Abstract:
In a hinge apparatus for rotatably connecting a first housing and a second housing of an electronic apparatus, the hinge apparatus includes a first rotating portion adapted to be connected to the first housing and a second rotating portion adapted to be connected to the second housing and rotatable with respect to the first rotating portion. The second rotating portion unrotatably holds a switch. A cam member is disposed to face the switch. The cam member is rotatable with respect to the second rotating portion and adapted to be engaged with the second housing in a rotating direction of the hinge apparatus. The switch includes a conductive first contact and a conductive second contact faced to the first contact and adapted to be connected to and disconnected from the first contact. The cam member has a cam portion for pressing the second contact following the rotation of the cam member to connect and disconnect the second contact to and from the first contact.
Abstract:
A position indicator may include a position indicator display and mechanism. A polymer housing houses the position indicator display and mechanism and a one-piece clear polymer cover encloses the position indicator display and mechanism in the polymer housing. The position indicator may further include a hinge and hand-operated latch that secures the one-piece clear polymer cover to the polymer housing such that the one-piece clear polymer cover can be opened without the use of tools.
Abstract:
A limit switch having a housing carrying one or more components that are individually field replaceable by an operator so that an operator can make an on-the-go field repair any faulty component in the limit switch. The field replaceable components can be frictionally or mechanically secured by a finger operable latch or the like so that an operator can remove and quickly replace a faulty component while the limit switch is connected a pneumatic conveying system or the like.
Abstract:
A waterproof switch has a single contact arranged in a sealed housing, with an actuator arm protruding from one end and electrical terminals protruding from an opposite end. The single contact is arranged close to a metal portion that is moved by the actuator into mechanical and electrical contact with the single contact. The sealed housing is formed of two pieces that are attached by a heat activated adhesive. The switch can be assembled by forming the metal switch parts on a long strip and subsequently, following the assembly of the housing, the small metal portions joining the switch parts are sheared away.
Abstract:
A safety switch includes a switch housing having at least one key channel into which a key can be introduced from the exterior. A plate cam projects into key channel and rotates when the key is introduced. A mechanism in secures the plate cam when the key has been fully introduced or completely removed.
Abstract:
A camera and method for controlling operation of the camera. The camera includes a film path for receiving a filmstrip and a transport mechanism for advancing the filmstrip along the film path. A motor connected to the transport mechanism is provided for advancing the filmstrip along the film path. A switch is provided for simultaneously turning off the motor and applying a braking force such that coasting of the motor is substantially eliminated
Abstract:
A switch (8) having an arm (12) and a roller (16) includes a biasing force generating means (140, 150, 160) for operating the switch in the event the roller (16) is detached.
Abstract:
An electromechanical circuit uses a plunger to open and close a circuit as an indication of the position of a flip portion of a mobile communication device. The plunger includes an electrically conductive portion which slidingly contacts a contact pad. Upon contacting the contact pad, a change in logic states occurs which triggers circuitry to activate or de-activate the internal electronics within the communication device. This allows a user, for example, to activate a phone to receive a call without having to depress a specified switch. A common cam-follower mechanical configuration is used to cause the plunger to translate axially as the flip portion is moved.
Abstract:
A self-adjusting electric tappet switch includes a slider linearly guided in a housing for activation or closure of one of several electrical contacts and a tappet which is selectively rotatable relative to the slider for adjustment of the travel limit of the switch. The slider has a first engagement portion provided with engagements parts, and the tappet includes a corresponding second engagement portion having an oblong cross-section provided with spaced apart circumferential grooves. The switch is self-adjusted by relative rotational movement between the slider and the tappet to lock the pair together. In an installation and adjustment position of the tappet and slider system, the slider is held in a predetermined fixed switching position in the housing to permit relative longitudinal slidable movement between the tappet and the slider for adjustment of the tappet without causing any movement of affecting the position of the slider within the housing. After the length of the tappet and slider is set, are locked together by relative rotation therebetween. Displacement of the tappet within the housing causes a corresponding movement of the slider thereby carried on the tappet within the housing relative to the electrical contacts.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a closing-edge-type fuse with a safety strip (1) which comprises an electric switch device and consists of a plurality of contact elements (2, 2a) which are disposed in a row in a resilient tube (3). In the rest position, under the effect of resilient prestress, the contact elements (2, 2a) abut one another at contact points provided at the end face. Under the effect of an external force when the tube (3) is deformed, the contact elements (2, 2a) are moved apart breaking the contact. A resilient contact element bed (4, 4a), which is adapted to the shape of the contact elements (2, 2a) and accommodates each of the contact elements individually, is provided in the resilient tube (3).
