Abstract:
A stretched mask for a color picture tube and a material for the stretched mask. The stretched mask is formed from a nickel-iron alloy steel sheet made of a nickel-iron alloy containing 35.0% to 37.0% by weight of nickel and 0.01% to 0.06% by weight of carbon. The nickel-iron alloy steel sheet is provided with apertures by etching using a pattern provided on the sheet. The stretched mask is free from image degradation due to a rise in temperature.
Abstract:
A color cathode ray tube can reduce a warp amount derived from a spring back after shaping a shadow mask and can suppress the deformation of a main surface of the shadow mask after fixedly securing the shadow mask and a mask frame to each other. The color cathode ray tube includes tongue portions which are protruded from distal ends of skirt portions of the shadow mask and a plurality of stress absorption holes are formed in the tongue portions.
Abstract:
A color CRT is provided, which makes it possible to use a larger-sized shadow mask without increasing the size of a face panel. This CRT is comprised of a vacuum envelope having a face panel, a funnel connected to the panel, and a neck connected to the funnel. The envelope has a central longitudinal axis approximatley pernendicular to the panel. The panel has studpins fixed to the inside of its side walls. A shadow mask assembly is provided in the envelope, which includes a shadow mask and a frame for supporting the mask. The frame has an approximately rectangular front section, an approximately rectangular middle section, and an approximately rectangular rear section. The front section and the rear section extend in approximately parallel to the central longitudinal axis of the envelope. The front section is shifted outwardly with respect to the rear section to approach the side walls of the panel. The periphery of the mask is fixed to the front section. Spring members are fixed to the outside of the rear section. The assembly is fixed to the inside of the panel by engaging the spring members of the frame with the stud pins of the panel so that the mask is opposed to the phosphor screen formed on the inside of the panel.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a color-selection mechanism with an aperture-grill type, color-selection electrode which includes tapes and slits that are disposed between the tapes. In this mechanism, when the arranged pitch of the slits is in the range of 0.310 to 0.221 mm, the width of the flat portion on the panel side of each tape of the color selection electrode is set to be 0.215 to 0.050 times the slit pitch, which is narrower than that in the related art, and when the arranged pitch of the slits is in the range of 0.220 to 0.100 mm, the width of the flat portion on the panel side of each tape of the color selection electrode is set to be 0.225 to 0.050 times the slit pitch, which is narrower than that in the related art. With this configuration, the amount of reflection of an electron beam that has been reflected from the inner surface of the panel from the flat portion on the panel side of each tape to an undesired phosphor can be reduced. As a result, the degradation of color purity in a CRT can be reduced.
Abstract:
A shadow mask for a color CRT includes an effective face having a plurality of electron beam through holes and having a predetermined curvature; and a skirt unit extendedly bent at an outer portion of the effective face at a predetermined angle in the axial direction of the CRT, so as to be combined to a frame, wherein the skirt unit of the shadow mask has a plurality of vertical beads in parallel to the axial direction of the CRT and at least one horizontal bead formed crosswise in the lengthwise direction almost perpendicular to the vertical bead. With this structure, the strength property of the skirt unit of the shadow mask is improved to thereby minimize the widening degree of the skirt occurring in mounting the mask. Also, the curvature deformation such as mask sinking is prevented, thereby improving the quality of the color CRT.
Abstract:
The present invention has an object to provide a method of manufacturing an electronic tube capable of eliminating deterioration of image quality due to an excessively high electron reflection effect of a material comprising a metal element with an atomic number not lower than 70 and painted on a shadow mask and deterioration of image quality due to spontaneous peeling of a coat on the surface of the shadow mask. A paint mainly comprising a solated metal oxide or a metal alkoxide of an element with an atomic number not lower than 40 is painted to form an electron reflection coat with an amount of coating of less than 2 mg/cm2 so as to achieve coating on an electron gun side surface of a shadow mask. With this method, an electronic tube with good image quality can be manufactured.

Abstract:
A color selection mechanism for a color CRT includes a frame to which a color selection electrode thin plate is to be applied, and a color selection thin plate. The surface of the frame to which the color selection electrode thin plate is to be applied is formed from a face represented by a first and a second function in a longitudinal direction from the center axis of the frame. The surface is leftwardly and rightwardly symmetrical with respect to the center axis.

A cathode ray tube for multimedia includes a shadow mask having a plurality of beam-guide apertures. Each of the beam-guide apertures has a stripe shape and the ratio of a horizontal length of an effective screen to a horizontal pitch of the beam-guide apertures in the center of the shadow mask is in the range of 1:8.81×10−4 to 1:1.23×10−3. The ratio of the horizontal pitch of the beam-guide apertures in the center of the shadow mask to the thickness of the shadow mask is in the range of 1:0.25 to 1:0.56.
Abstract:
A shadow mask has a mask body and a substantially rectangular mask frame attached to a peripheral portion of the mask body. The mask body has a substantially rectangular curved effective surface opposed to a phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of a panel. The effective surface has a number of electron beam passage apertures. The effective surface of the mask body has a curvature in a direction of the long axis, which is set within a range of about 0 to 2×10−4 (1/mm) over an area from a center of the effective surface to a middle portion of the effective surface in the direction of the long axis. A curvature at a peripheral portion in the direction of the long axis is set to be greater than that at the middle portion. A curvature on the short axis in the direction of the short axis successively increases over a distance equal to at least two thirds of a distance between the center and an effective end of the short axis.
