摘要： A glare-reducing coating, as for a viewing surface of a cathode-ray tube, is prepared by (a) warming the surface of a support to about 30.degree. to 100.degree.C, (b) coating the warm surface with an aqueous solution containing a lithium stabilized silica sol, (c) drying the coating, (d) baking the dry coating at about 150.degree. to 450.degree.C, and then (e) subsequent to said heating step (d), washing the dry coating with hot water. The coating may contain carbon particles or carbon particles and a color-correcting dye.

摘要： An improved electron bombardment semiconductor diode and amplifying tube employing shielding of the diode junction. A metallic shield is provided around the areas of the semiconductor diode junction exposed to the incoming electron beam. Incoming electrons are thereby prevented from striking the periphery and depletion region of the diode and hence surface and bulk charging effects are eliminated. The maximum reverse bias voltage is hence increased thereby increasing the maximum possible power output from tubes employing such diodes. An arrangement is disclosed for interconnection of a plurality of such diodes such that the capacitance between electrodes is substantially reduced and the frequency response of the device is correspondingly increased.

摘要： An apparatus comprising an upper mold formed at its top with a plurality of resin injecting gates and on its lower surface with a plurality of rectangular recesses, and a lower mold having a planar upper surface and a substantially convex lower surface and being formed on the planar upper surface with a plurality of rectangular resin receiving recesses disposed parallel to each other and along the longitudinal axis of the lower mold, the lower mold having a very fine wire wound thereon in convolutions in predetermined spaced apart relationship. After the upper mold is placed on the lower mold, a resin is injected through the resin injecting gates into a cavity formed by the rectangular recesses in the upper and lower molds and allowed to solidify therein so as to fix portions of the wire convolutions disposed in the resin receiving recesses. A printed board is applied to each side of the upper portion of the lower mold, and the wire is wound on the two printed boards as well as the lower mold. Then, the two printed boards are electrically connected to the wire before the latter is cut and removed from the lower mold on which it is wound.

摘要： A color television display system is described which requires no dynamic convergence apparatus for small and medium size screen color picture tubes and which requires relatively simple dynamic convergence apparatus for large screen color picture tubes. The color picture tube includes an electron gun assembly for producing three adjacent horizontal in-line coplanar beams. The electron gun assembly includes a common three-aperture beam forming electrode for establishing precise alignment of the beams. The beams are substantially converged at all points in the scanned raster as they are deflected by a deflection yoke providing negative horizontal isotropic astigmatism and positive vertical isotropic astigmatism. The gun assembly includes magnetic shield members disposed around the two outside beam paths to shield those beams from a portion of the deflection field so that the rasters scanned by the three beams are of the same size. In addition, the color picture tube includes a faceplate having repeating groups of three different color phosphor strips and an aperture mask including a plurality of elongated slit apertures disposed adjacent the phosphor strips to enhance the light output from the picture tube.

摘要： An image transmission system for coupling a luminescent screen for displaying an image to a photoconductive lead monoxide target of a television camera tube comprises an fiber-optical plate employing light-conducting fibers between the luminescent screen and the television camera tube.
