Abstract: The present embodiments are directed to a device for generating radio frequency signals, including high power radio frequency signals. In certain embodiments, the device comprises multiple transmission lines driven in parallel at their input and connected in series at their output. The electromagnetic transit lengths of the transmission lines may be unequal. A series connection of the transmission lines at the output may produce an output signal from each transmission line driving the same polarity signal to the load. The series connection of transmission lines at the output may produce a bipolar output signal. One section of the device may convert a unipolar input signal into a bipolar signal. One section of the device may duplicate the input signal. Multiple sections may be arranged to convert a unipolar input signal into multiple radio frequency oscillations.

Abstract: Described herein are radio-frequency (RF) modules that include shielding for improved RF performance. The RF modules including a packaging substrate with a receiving system implemented thereon. The RF module includes a shield implemented to provide RF shielding for at least a portion of the receiving system. The receiving system can include any combination of pre-amplifier or post-amplifier bandpass filters, amplifiers, switching networks, impedance matching components, phase-shifting components, input multiplexers, and output multiplexers. The shielding can include a conductive layer within a conformal shielding on an upper side and side walls of the RF module. The shielding can be an overmold formed over the packaging substrate. The conductive layer can be connected to one or more ground planes. The packaging substrate can include contact features on an underside of the substrate for mounting an underside component.

Abstract: A radio communication device is provided with a VOX function. A reception completion state determination unit determines whether or not a reception unit is in a state of completing reception. A timer starts to measure a predetermined time when the reception completion state determination unit determines that the reception unit is in the state of completing the reception. A VOX level selection unit sets a VOX level at which the VOX function determines that transmission is made to a first VOX level after the timer finishes measuring the predetermined time, and sets the VOX level to a second VOX level smaller than the first VOX level while the timer is measuring the predetermined time.

Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) transmit-receive switch has an antenna port, first and second transmit differential ports and first and second receive differential ports. Transmit transistor switches are connected to the transmit differential ports. Primary and secondary windings of a transmit coupled inductor transformer are connected to the transmit transistor switches. Receive transistor switches are connected to the receive differential ports. Primary and secondary windings of a receive coupled inductor transformer are connected to the receive transistor switches. A first balun inductive winding is connected to the antenna port, and a second balun inductive winding is connected to the transistor switches.

Abstract: A front end circuit includes a variable matching circuit connected to a diplexer and a switch connector connected between an antenna port and the diplexer. The variable matching circuit selectively connects matching circuits to a signal path. When one of the matching circuits is connected, the impedance as viewed from the switch connector matches an impedance of a measurement circuit near a normalized impedance of 1 in a predetermined communication band, whereas when the other matching circuit is connected, the impedance viewed from the antenna port conjugate-matches the impedance of an antenna circuit in a predetermined communication band.

Abstract: There are disclosed various methods and apparatuses for an antenna. In some embodiments of the method a transmission signal is provided to a first feed point (126) of an antenna (102). A modified signal is generated from the transmission signal and provided to a second feed point (128) of the antenna (102). In some embodiments the apparatus comprises an antenna comprising a first feed point (126) and a second feed point (128). There is also a first interface to provide a transmission signal to the first feed point (126), and a phase shifter (124) for generating a modified signal from the transmission signal. The modified signal is provided to a second feed point (128) of the antenna (102).
