摘要： An arrangement of the components of a revolving battery gun such that the center of gravity of the assembly is located on the axis of the firing barrel at the time of its maximum recoil thrust. The required location of the center of gravity is achieved by the use of a relatively small number of barrels in a Gatling gun having a main cam with a self-intersecting, two-revolution track and a crossover switch mechanism. Such a configuration permits the firing barrel to be placed relatively near to the gun rotor axis and permits the gun feeder, as well as the drive, recoil adapters, and other accessory devices to be placed on the same side of the gun as the firing barrel. In this location, the accessory devices counterbalance the weight of the rotor and barrel cluster, thereby placing the center of gravity of the assembly approximately on the axis of the firing barrel. The recoil thrust then passes through the center of gravity of the recoiling mass, eliminating pitch and yaw moments.

摘要： A cartridge feed system for an automatic gun comprising a drum magazine possessing a number of chambers, the drum magazine being rotatably mounted about a drum shaft connected with the gun mount and incrementally or step-wise drivable. A first feed device is provided which moves the cartridges out of a respective chamber of the drum magazine and such first feed device is arranged stationarily externally of the drum magazine. A storage is disposed between the drum magazine and the gun and possesses two channels. The storage with the channels is arranged to be displaceable and each channel selectively can be shifted or displaced into a work position and into a rest position for the selective firing of different types of ammunition. A second feed device is provided which moves the cartridges out of the storage and delivers such to the gun, while the drum magazine is further rotated through one indexing step.

摘要： An automatic firearm, particularly a gas operated weapon, comprises a cartridge feeding system which operates upon movement of a reciprocating breech block to feed a series of cartridges in succession to the cartridge chamber of the gun barrel under the control of gas pressure which is generated during the firing of each cartridge. A cartridge feeding device for the gun includes a multi-operable cartridge magazine which has a plurality of rotatable stars arranged at transversely spaced locations and which may be shifted selectively into operative positions in which a rotatable shaft portion becomes automatically coupled to a coupling and indexing mechanism which is carried on the gun. The coupling and indexing mechanism comprises a rotary portion which is rotated upon movement of a piston member which is connected during the firing to the pressure gases so that it is shifted to effect rotation of the coupling. The coupling is connected to the shaft of the indexing star which is in the operative position so that the cartridges of this portion are fed in succession to the cartridge chamber of the gun barrel. The construction permits shifting from one rotatable cartridge supplying star system to another or to a system in which the cartridges are fed either by the rotatable star or by a magazine clip which feeds the cartridges directly downwardly to a position in which they are moved to the cartridge chamber.

摘要： A belt feeder arrangement for automatic firearms with special spring and cam arrangements to prevent the jamming of the belt member in the ejector slot during changes in ammunition belts. Two spring biased pivotal lever members are mounted adjacent one another to engage the belt member and hold it up out of the ejector slot as it passes thereby. One lever is longer than the other so the levers engage the belt member in series. Alternative embodiments include leaf spring members in place of the pivotal lever members. Also, spacer members can be arranged at the mounting of the levers for adjusting to different size ammunition and belt members.
