    Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus transmits a beacon frame during a beacon transmission interval (BTI), receives a transmission sector sweep (SSW) frame from another wireless communication apparatus, during a beamforming training (BFT) period following the BTI, extracts, in a case where information relating to a discovery request is included in the transmission SSW frame, information relating to a first transmission sector that is selected by the other wireless communication apparatus from among the transmission SSW frames, selects a second transmission sector from transmission sectors used by the other wireless communication apparatus, the transmission sectors being included in the transmission SSW frames, transmits a feedback frame including information regarding the selected second transmission sector, using the first transmission sector during the BFT period, and transmits a probe response frame including information regarding the selected second transmission sector, using the first transmission sector, during a data transmission period following the BFT period.

    Abstract: A transmitter includes: a modulation circuit that modulates a data sequence using QAM by mapping the data sequence to only four symbols each of which differs in phase by 90 degrees from an adjacent one of the four symbols and at least two of which have different amplitudes; and a transmission circuit that wirelessly transmits the data sequence mapped to the four symbols through the modulation by the modulation circuit, by assigning the data sequence mapped to the four symbols through the modulation by the modulation circuit to different subcarriers for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM).

    Abstract: A decoding system decodes a video stream, which is encoded video information. The decoding system includes a decoder that acquires the video steam and generates decoded video information, and a maximum luminance information acquirer that acquires, in a case where a dynamic range of luminance of the video stream is a second dynamic range that is wider than a first dynamic range, maximum luminance information indicating the maximum luminance of the video stream from the video stream. The decoding system also includes an outputter that outputs the decoded video information and the maximum luminance information. Where the dynamic range of luminance of the video stream is expressed by the maximum luminance of all pictures in the video stream as the maximum luminance information, the outputter outputs the decoded video information, along with the maximum luminance information indicating the maximum luminance of all pictures in the video stream.

    Abstract: A noise controller includes: a noise detector; a control filter that performs signal processing on a noise signal using a control factor; a speaker that reproduces an output signal from the control filter; an error microphone that detects a residual noise at a control point; a transmission characteristics correction filter that performs signal processing on the noise signal, using characteristics of sound transmission from the speaker to the error microphone; a factor updater that updates the control factor; a correction filter that performs signal processing on an output signal from the control filter, using the characteristics of sound transmission; a subtractor that subtracts, from an error signal indicative of the residue noise, an output signal from the correction filter; and an effect measuring unit that measures a noise reduction effect at the control point based on a difference between an output signal from the subtractor and the error signal.

    Abstract: An information output method in an information output device acquires first information on an operation history of one or more devices operated by one or more users, acquires second information that identifies a user detected in the vicinity of one or more output devices, acquires third information on behavior of the user, identifies a device whose state is changed or whose state is changeable within a predetermined time among the one or more devices and an operator who performs operation relating to the change in the state based on the first information, determines an output mode and content of notification information on the identified device to the detected user based on information on the identified device and operator, the second information, and the third information, and outputs, in the determined output mode, notification information having the determined content to one or more output devices that detect the detected user.
