    摘要: A mirror formed by a circular-shaped sheet of flexible material, and having a reflective coating on one side, is held at its periphery in a resilient diaphragm which provides an air pocket between itself and the rear side of the mirror. The diaphragm and mirror assembly are mounted on a rigid dish-shaped plate, which is also circular shaped and attached at its periphery to the rear side of said diaphragm. A hole is provided at the center of the plate, and a stem attached to the center of the rear face of the diaphragm extends through the hole and has an eccentric cam pivotally mounted to its free end. The rear face of the plate serves as a cam following surface, and as the cam is turned the diaphragm is drawn rearwardly thereby decreasing the air pressure in the pocket between the diaphragm and mirror, and causing the flexible mirror to deflect in a concave manner. Such concave flexion of the mirror gives it a magnifying effect which may be increased or decreased with the positioning of the cam.

    摘要: A magnetic recording head has at least two magnetic transducers constructed in a common head in spaced-apart relation sufficient for convenient assembly and proper shielding of the individual transducers. The transducers follow spaced parallel tracks on the magnetic tape, and are moved after following one set of tracks on the tape into a position for following additional spaced tracks. No two adjacent tracks on the tape contain the same type of recorded information, and all of the tracks are equally spaced apart over the entire range of movement of the head. In color television recording, one transducer records and/or plays back video information and the other transducer records and/or plays back color information and audio. The transducers in the head are spaced apart (on centers) a distance greater than the movement imparted to the head for following different tracks, the movement preferably being two thirds this transducer spacing. This produces alternate tracks on the tape with minimum guard band between any two adjacent tracks, and with each video track on opposite sides of a color-audio track. In longitudinal recording this permits use of a maximum amount of the tape surface, leaving only two possible track areas unused.

    摘要: A circuit for use in electronically sweeping the tuning capacitors of a radio receiver through their capacitance range for successively tuning in each station. The sweeping action stops automatically and the value of the tuning capacitors are held constant at each station which is picked up by the radio. The sweep function is restarted to drive the tuner toward the next higher frequency station by means of a manually operated switch. The tuning capacitors comprise voltage variable capacitance diodes which are varied by means of a ramp voltage supplied by a generator. The generator is formed by a PNP transistor which charges a capacitor to provide the ramp voltage, and by a first field effect transistor which controls the base current of the PNP transistor. A silicon controlled rectifier is connected in parallel with the capacitor at the output of the ramp generator to discharge the capacitor after it has reached the peak voltage level required to vary the diode''s capacitance. In the case of an FM radio, said first field effect transistor has its gate electrode coupled for bias control by a ratio detector in the IF strip of the FM receiver. The output of the ratio detector causes the ramp voltage to level off, when a station is tuned in, by establishing the currents in the transistors so that the charging current to the ramp generator capacitor ceases, thereby holding constant the voltage to the tuning diode. In the case of an AM radio, the IF frequency developed in the AM receiver is passed through a series circuit formed by a narrow band filter, an amplifier, and a rectifier, to provide a DC voltage which is applied to the base electrode of the PNP ramp generator transistor. The DC voltage at said base electrode becomes more positive as a station is tuned in, and the PNP transistor decreases its conduction so that the ramp function ceases and the output voltage to the tuning diodes remain constant.
