Abstract: The technology described herein is generally directed towards a distributed optimization technology for the control of aggregation of distributed flexibility resource nodes that operates iteratively until a commanded power profile is produced by aggregated loads. The technology uses a distributed iterative solution in which each node solves a local optimization problem with local constraints and states, while using a global Lagrange multiplier that is based upon information from each other node. The global Lagrange multiplier is determined at an aggregation level using load-specific information that is obtained in a condensed form (e.g., a scalar) from each node at each iteration. The global Lagrange multiplier is broadcasted to the nodes for each new iteration. The technology provides an iterative, distributed solution to the network optimization problem of power tracking of aggregated loads.

Abstract: An electrical assembly comprises a device. The device includes an inductive coil and an armature. The armature is arranged to be moveable between first and second positions when the inductive coil is energized. The electrical assembly further includes a detection unit which is configured to detect an inductance of the inductive coil or a characteristic that corresponds to the inductance of the inductive coil. The detection unit is further configured to determine the position of the armature based on the detected inductance or the detected characteristic.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for real-time electrical power grid restorations. An example system may include a real-time monitoring module configured to acquire operational data associated with electrical grid components of an electrical grid. The system may further include a restoration manager module configured to detect, based on the operational data, one or more unplanned outages or other events in the electrical grid. In response to the detection, the restoration manager module can analyze the operational data to determine or select from a database a restoration plan. The restoration plan can include operations associated with commands for control devices, wherein the control devices are operable to control a power transmission between the electrical grid components. The restoration manager module can be further configured to execute the one or more operations of the restoration plan to restore the electrical power grid to a normal operational state.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for estimation of electrical grid parameters. An example system may include a data acquisition module configured to acquire electrical parameters. The electrical parameters can be measured at electrical components of the electrical grid. The electrical components may include at least one transmission line and at least one transformer. The system may include a parameter estimation module configured to analyze the electrical parameters to estimate impedance parameters associated with the electrical components and provide, via a user interface, at least one indication regarding the impedance parameters. The system may further include a line sagging detection module configured to estimate, based on the impedance parameters, at least one line sagging parameter indicative of sagging of the transmission line. The line sagging detection module can be further configured to output at least one indication regarding the sagging of the at least one transmission line.
