Abstract: A method for manufacturing a wound dressing having a substrate, and a wound dressing manufactured by such a method are described. The method has a step of providing a sacrificial layer of material to be perforated by means of a hot pin perforator, in order to remove any molten residues on the heated pins of the hot pin perforator, before the same pins are used to make holes in the substrate. The presented method is cost effective, robust and reduces the risk of contaminating substances being embedded in the substrate during the hole making process.

Abstract: Disclosed is dressing having a backing layer, an (absorbent) pad, an adhesive coating and a release liner. The release liner is releasably attached to the adhesive coating. The release liner is configured to stiffen up and protect protrusions and/or border portions of the dressing that may otherwise be wrinkled, folded, kinked or otherwise damaged or impaired prior to (transportation or storage) or during application at the point-of-use. The dressing can be used for wound treatment. The dressing is suitable for preventing shear and/or friction from causing (deep tissue) skin damage, in particular for the prevention of pressure ulcers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wound pad comprising fibers and being provided with at least a first and a second discrete group of incisions, wherein each one of said discrete groups of incisions comprises at least a first and a second incision, wherein said first and said second incision extend from a common starting point to a respective end point, wherein the end point of said first incision is spaced from the end point of said second incision, wherein the common starting point of said first group of incisions is provided on a first side of an imaginary line extending in the machine direction of said fibrous wound pad, and the common starting point of said second group of incisions is provided on a second side of said imaginary line, and wherein a first incision of said first group of incisions and a second incision of said second group of incisions each cross said imaginary line. The present invention also relates to a self-adhesive member for adhering to and cover a portion of a user's skin.
