Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, the present disclosure provides organohydrogel fibers and a process for making the organohydrogel fibers. The organohydrogel fibers have a hydrophobic phase dispersed in a hydrophilic phase. The organohydrogel fibers contain at least one hydrophobic active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), and at least one hydrophilic API. The organohydrogel fibers can be formed into a non-woven or 3D printed patch and a replaceable backing can be attached to the patch to make an effective wound dressing. The wound dressing can deliver active pharmaceutical ingredients to the wound over a period of multiple days.

Abstract: Provided herein are methods for making foam materials and foam material products having a polyurethane foam matrix defining a plurality of pores, a hydrophilic agent retained within at least a portion of the pores for improving an absorption of the foam material, a salt retained within at least a portion of the pores in an amount sufficient to render the foam material isotonic, a surfactant retained within at least a portion of the pores in an amount sufficient to be released upon contact with a moist surface. Also provided herein are methods for making a multilayer foam by casting a second foam layer on a first foam layer substrate and compressing the second foam layer before the second layer is fully cured to form an interface layer in situ.

Abstract: An absorbent article can include a bodyside liner, an outer cover, and an absorbent body disposed between the bodyside liner and the outer cover. The bodyside liner can be treated with a surfactant. A component of the absorbent article can be treated with a hydrophobically modified polymer. The hydrophobically modified polymer can be configured to interact with the surfactant upon wetting of the absorbent article when the surfactant and the hydrophobically modified polymer are in an aqueous solution to increase surface tension of the aqueous solution.

Further, the disclosure provides a method for preparation of said composite dressing, wherein said method enables production of the composite dressing having cohesive bonding between porous matrix and fabric support without use of any adhesive, stitching or chemical crosslinking agent between the two layers. The composite dressing exhibits high peel strength in both dry and wet conditions and has applications such as hemostatic dressings for deep cavity wounds, puncture wounds, post-partum hemorrhage and internal hemostatic agents.
