Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure include, for example, identifying a primary serving cell and a secondary serving cell, wherein the primary serving cell facilitates one of attachment, re-attachment or mobility, or any combination thereof, of a mobile device in association with coordination of a wireless service between the primary serving cell, the secondary serving cell and the mobile device. A latency value associated with a message exchange is determined between the primary and secondary serving cells via a messaging interface, and compared to latency requirements, which correspond to a group of mobile service features. A mobile service feature of the group is associated with the wireless service based on the comparison. The wireless service includes a coordinated exchange of wireless signals between the primary serving cell and the mobile device and between the secondary serving cell and the mobile device based on the mobile service feature. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining a first set of traffic load measurements associated with current traffic of a first RAT and a second set of traffic load measurements associated with current traffic of a second RAT, determining a respective weighted traffic load for each QoS level in a first set of QoS levels associated with the first RAT and for each QoS level in a second set of QoS levels associated with the second RAT, deriving a resource allocation ratio for the first and second RATs, and performing a resource allocation based on the resource allocation ratio to enable relative scheduling weights assigned to the QoS levels in the first set of QoS levels and the second set of QoS levels to be reflected in first RAT traffic and second RAT traffic over a DSS spectrum. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for optimization of information required for establishing an initial connection with a network device. According to some embodiments, a system can comprise receiving a service request from a network device. The system can further comprise determining a first size of a network device capabilities message, wherein the determining is based on a second size of the network device capability message previously collected from the network device; and based on a first result of analyzing the first size of the network device capabilities message and a message size threshold, determining that the network device capabilities message is not greater than the message size threshold, and requesting the network device to provide the network device capabilities message associated with network device capabilities in accordance with a single step enquiry.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for device-based idle mode load balancing. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a mobile device can receive a cell information message that includes load information of a current camping cell on which the mobile device is currently camping and load information of at least one neighbor cell of a plurality of neighbor cells to the current camping cell. The mobile device can also obtain cell-type information of the current camping cell and cell-type information of the at least one neighbor cell. The mobile device can also determine a mobility state of the mobile device, and, based upon the load information of the current camping cell, the load information of the at least one neighbor cell, the cell-type information of the current camping cell, the cell-type information of the at least one neighbor cell, and the mobility state information, select a target camping cell.
