Abstract: An example method includes determining, by executing an instruction with a processor, whether environmental condition data collected by a plurality of sensors of a mobile device complies with an environmental condition rule. The environmental condition rule including environmental thresholds associated with the environmental condition data, and the environmental condition data being representative of external conditions. The method includes when the environmental condition data does not comply with the environmental condition rule: determining, by executing an instruction with the processor, a level of severity of at least one of the external conditions which does not comply with the environmental condition rule; and in response to determining the level of severity does not satisfy a severity threshold, informing a user of the mobile device of the at least one of the external conditions; and in response to determining the level of severity satisfies the severity threshold, informing a third-party of the at least one of the external conditions absent input from the user of the mobile device.

Abstract: Devices and systems are provided for controlling electronic devices using a mobile remote control device. A mobile remote control device provides an interface to control a plurality of electronic devices. The mobile device has a unique identifier, and the electronic device transmits a presentation of a remote control to the mobile device. A user of the mobile device controls the electronic device by operating the “virtual” remote control displayed on the mobile device. The user may further define his or her custom remote control. The user may define batches of commands, or “macros” that transmit a specific series of commands to one or more electronic devices. Proximity and motion of a mobile device may be used as an input, such that the electronic devices are programmed to react in specific ways depending upon the position and movement of the user of the mobile device.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including receiving, by a system comprising a processor, a multicast video stream directed to an array of a plurality of display modules movably attached to a modular display, extracting, by the system, video display data from the multicast video stream according to a location within the array of a first display module of the plurality of display modules, and updating, by the system, a video display of the first display module according to the video display data that is extracted from the multicast video stream, wherein the updating is synchronized to a master clock of the modular display. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies for optical environmental filtering with intrusion protection are provided. In an embodiment, a system can include a first intrusion detection frame structure, a second intrusion detection frame structure, a controller unit, and a laser filter frame structure that is disposed between the first intrusion detection frame structure and the second intrusion detection frame structure. The laser filter frame structure can include at least one laser emitter that projects at least one laser beam that forms a laser emission plane between the first light intrusion plane and the second light intrusion plane. The controller unit can activate at least one laser emitter, and in response to detecting an object passing through the first light intrusion plane, deactivate a laser emitter to pause creation of the laser emission plane. The controller can reactivate a laser emitter before the object passes through the second light intrusion plane.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to wireless network enhancements via inductance loops as antennas. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a roadside system can measure inductance of an inductance loop associated with a road. The roadside system can determine whether the inductance of the inductance loop is greater than a baseline. If the inductance of the inductance loop is greater than the baseline, the roadside system can determine that a vehicle is positioned over the inductance loop and can utilize the inductance loop to activate a roadside area network. The roadside system can connect a user device to the roadside system via the roadside area network. The roadside system can include a connection to a network via a backhaul to enable communication between the user device and the network.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies for handling and screening incoming calls are provided. A processor executing instructions associated with a call handling service can detect that a call from a calling party is being routed, via a communication interface, to a called party device associated with a customer. The processor can obtain caller identification data that can specify an identity that is generated by the calling party and intended to be representative of the calling party when presented to the customer by the called party device. The processor can determine an interface identifier associated with the communication interface, and retrieve a call authentication scenario based on the interface identifier. The call authentication scenario can specify a storage location of data. The processor can obtain the data from the storage location, determine a call handling action, prepare a call handling command, and provide the call handling command to a network.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards presenting communications data to a responding entity that are relevant to an emergency situation at an emergency location. The communications data can be obtained from communications (e.g., text messages, transmitted video, voice calls and the like) that involve at least one user device at the situation, including communications that do not involve the responding entity. Users may opt in to such an emergency service to allow access to their communications, whereby their device locations are tracked and known in the event of an emergency. Upon obtaining the communications data, a responder can receive a view of the scene augmented with the communications data. The view can include a three-dimensional and/or two-dimensional representation of the zone/area of the emergency situation. Filtering can be used to eliminate irrelevant communications, and summarization can be used to combine generally redundant communications.
