摘要: A novel NAND flash memory cell array and the method of fabricating the same are disclosed in this invention. The NAND flash memory cell array comprises a substrate with an active area; a plurality of cells arranged in a row on the active area; a first barrier layer covering the cells and the active area around each end of the row; a first oxide deposited to fill a gap between the cells; an oxide spacer formed along the sidewall of a cell located at each end of the row; and a poly spacer formed on the oxide spacer acting as a selection gate for driving the row of cells. The aspect ratio of the gap between the cells is about 1.8 to 3.2. Many advantages are provided with such NAND flash memory fabricating by the self-aligned process of the present invention.

摘要: A system and method are presented for minimizing loss of voice packet during a wireless communications device Candidate Frequency Search (CFS). The method includes monitoring frames in a predetermined sample frame sequence and identifying frames having minimal user information. That is, frames with lower frame rates. The method further includes, in a wireless communications device, performing a CFS responsive to identifying frames having minimal user information. One example of the method includes identifying a lowest frame rate in an initial frame and performing a CFS in a frame following the initial frame. The method includes monitoring forward direction link frames and reverse direction link frames, and simultaneously monitoring forward and reverse direction link frames.

摘要: Application-specific access lists are provided for a multimode mobile wireless device. The multimode mobile device has an access list for each wireless technology. Typically, these technology specific access lists are standard for each technology, and are provided by a service provider or the manufacturer of the multimode mobile device. For each application the multimode wireless device is a likely to operate, an application-specific access list is generated. The application-specific access list ranks the wireless technologies according to its relative desirability for the application. In this way, when the multimode mobile device request an application, the application-specific access list may be used to efficiently acquire a network preferred for that particular application. The application-specific access lists may be updated from time to time as applications are added or changed, as technology specific access lists are updated, or as geographic location changes.

摘要: A system and method is provided for tuning a Global Positioning System (GPS) antenna matching circuit in a portable wireless communications device. The method includes accepting a first matching circuit tuning value, measuring satellite vehicle (SV) carrier-to-noise ratio (C/N) associated with the first tuning value and a first search time interval, measuring the SV C/N associated with a next tuning value, and selecting the tuning value associated with the highest SV C/N to tune the matching circuit. In one aspect, the method further includes comparing the SV C/N to a first minimum threshold. If the first tuning value SV C/N exceeds the first minimum threshold, then the method measures the SV C/N associated with the next tuning value. Otherwise, a default tuning value can be selected to tune the matching circuit.

摘要: An automated software re-testing system for efficiently validating proper operation according to a specification. Regression tests are automatically created in an object-oriented system. The inheritance hierarchy of the system is used to determine which system classes should be tested. Regression test class destructors are used to test dependent classes. Unchanged system classes, and those dependent entirely on unchanged system classes need not be tested and time and effort are saved by skipping their re-testing.

摘要: A novel and improved digital FM audio processor for use in a dual-mode communication system selectively operative in either FM or code division multiple access (CDMA) modes. Analog voice or voice-band data is input to a speech encoder/decoder (CODEC) which converts the analog signal to a digital signal. The digital FM signal is read from the CODEC, filtered, compressed, up-sampled and combined with a transponded SAT signal and then modulated for RF transmission. On the receive side, the FM analog signal is received, demodulated, down-sampled, expanded, and filtered before being converted to the proper format (&mgr;-law, a-law, or linear) for the speech CODEC. The CODEC then converts the digital FM audio signal into an analog waveform for conversion to sound. By performing the FM audio processing digitally, the same digital signal processing (DSP) firmware may integrated on the same application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) which is capable of performing audio processing of both FM and CDMA audio signals.
