摘要: In an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system, an IPTV server is configured to receive a request from an IPTV content storage device (CSD) to view a video stream. The IPTV server selects a set of peers for the IPTV CSD, and transmits the set of peers to the IPTV CSD. In the system, a capacity of a fiber to the node (FTTN) switch in a down linking direction is greater than or equal to a sum of a number of simultaneous viewers supported by the FTTN switch plus a number of viewers that receive video streams from peers in the same community.

摘要: An electrochemical machining process for forming a non-circular hole from a substantially circular hole within a workpiece using an electrode. The electrode is made of an electrically conductive material and has insulated areas in which the electrically conductive material is coated with an insulating material, and exposed areas of metal or conductive material. The insulated areas and exposed areas extending in rows substantially along a longitudinal axis of the electrode. The electrode is first positioned in a substantially circular hole. An electric current is then applied to the electrode to electrochemically remove a predetermined amount of material from the substantially circular hole to form a non-circular hole. A variety of different non-circular shapes are achievable using the process.

摘要: The present invention is related to a method for adjusting the frequency characteristic of a digital audio processor having adjustable parameters including at least low frequency gain, high frequency gain and volume gain. The invention is also related to an audio device executing the inventive method every time the characteristic frequency response curve is adjusted. Today's audio devices frequently offer the feature that the user can select among a group of different sound characteristics. Typically the user may want to adapt the sound characteristic of the device to the kind of music he is listening, e.g. rock, jazz, or classic music. In technical terms the sound characteristic is widely determined by the characteristic frequency response curve of the audio signal processing. Those characteristic curves are essentially defined by a gain value in the low, middle and high frequency range. Normally, a 3-band audio processor, which allows adjusting these three parameters independently is used for this purpose. However, 3-band audio processors are relatively more expensive than 2-band audio processors, which allows only adjusting the gain value at the low frequency range and high frequency range. The invention suggests a method how to adjust the volume gain, the low and high frequency gain of a 2-band audio processor to achieve the same features a 3-band audio processor offers.

摘要: A method for forming holes in an object is provided. The method includes providing an electrochemical machining (ECM) electrode including a first section having insulation that circumscribes the first section, and a second section having insulation that extends only partially around the second section. The method also includes inserting the electrode into the object, such that in a single pass the electrode forms a hole that includes a first portion having a first cross-sectional area and a second portion having a second cross-sectional area.

摘要: A turbine portion, for example a turbine blade, for exposure in a hot fluid flow includes at least one internal cooling passage disposed therein. A cooling fluid is introduced within the cooling passage(s) to maintain the bulk temperature of the turbine portion at some acceptable temperature level. A plurality of concavities are disposed on the interior surface of the cooling passage. In one embodiment, the concavities are formed on the interior surface of cooling passage in an array pattern such that a spiral bulk fluid motion is obtained, similar to that which would be formed by a helical rib, but without the rib. The concavity surface pattern serves to enhance heat transfer to the same degree as the conventional rib rougheners, but with significantly less pressure loss due to friction. The spiral motion of the bulk cooling fluid also serves to recirculate central coolant to the heat transfer surface, thereby making the heat exchange process more effective than that for turbulated surfaces.
