    摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving system information in a wireless communication system are disclosed. A method for receiving system information by a mobile station (MS) of a wireless communication system includes receiving a secondary superframe header (S-SFH) change cycle from a base station (BS), and receiving a primary superframe header information element (P-SFH IE) including a first field indicating a change count of a plurality of secondary superframe header subpacket information elements (S-SFH SP IEs) from the base station (BS). Once each of the plurality of S-SFH SP IEs is changed, each of the plurality of S-SFH SP IEs remains unchanged during one or more S-SFH change cycles.

A method for efficiently paging a mobile station of an idle mode comprises allocating an identifier of a large paging group and an identifier of a specific one of small paging groups included in the large paging group to a broadcast channel region and transmitting a header including the broadcast channel region to the terminal. Accordingly, the present invention enables efficient paging.

    摘要： A ranging method in a mobile station of a femto system is disclosed. According to the present invention, a femto base station enables non-synchronized ranging channel (NS-RCH) information to be carried on S-SFH SP1. A mobile station receives S-SFH and then determines whether a base station is a femto base station. If the base station is the femto base station, the mobile station is able to perform a periodic ranging using the NS-RCH information within the S-SFH as well as an initial/handover ranging.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a broadband wireless access system, and more specifically, to a reliable group resource allocation method and an apparatus therefor. A group resource allocation operating method of a terminal in a broadband wireless access system according to one aspect of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a message which includes group setup information from a base station; determining a channel identifier of a 1st map for group resource allocation received from the base station by using the group setup information; receiving a 2nd map from the base station which includes the channel identifier determined by the base station; comparing the channel identifier determined by the terminal with a channel identifier value included in the 2nd map; and transmitting an extended header which includes inconsistency information to the base station if the channel identifier of the 1st map determined by the terminal is inconsistent with the channel identifier value included in the 2nd map according to a comparison of the results.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a bandwidth request preamble sequence selecting method for bandwidth requests on a wireless access system, and to a random access procedure using the same. Also, the present invention relates to devices supporting the random access procedure. In one example of the present invention, the method for randomly accessing a wireless access system may comprise the steps of: receiving a first message containing a predefined bandwidth request index from a base station; selecting a bandwidth request preamble sequence from the predefined bandwidth request index on the basis if the properties of uplink data to be transmitted by a mobile terminal; transmitting a second message containing a predefined bandwidth request index to the base station; and transmitting the selected bandwidth request preamble sequence to the base station.
