摘要： A printer/feeder apparatus of the type having: (i) a feed/transport platen rotatable so that its peripheral surface moves past a sheet supply zone, a print path ingress, a print zone and a print path egress; (ii) frictional feed surface located on a peripheral sector of the platen surface and (iii) means for selectively effecting feeding engagement between the face sheet(s) of a stack of sheet media and the feed surface features a detection/control system that includes (a) a first detector for sensing and signalling when and when not a forward edge of the feed surface is at a predetermined start position; (b) a second detector means for sensing and signalling when and when not engagement condition exists; (c) a third detector means for sensing and signalling when and when not a sheet is located along a predetermined portion(s) of the print path; and (d) a control system for receiving signals from the detectors and enabling printing cycles and signalling error conditions.

摘要： A system for printing with a plurality of removable print/cartridges includes a carriage constructed to traverse a linear print zone and removably support such print/cartridges. A plurality of referencing surfaces are located respectively on each of the carriages, parallel to the direction of the carriages traverse. The carriage includes fastening mechanisms for moving supported print/cartridges into a precise detent relation with respective referencing surfaces of the carriages. The referencing surface portions of the system are adjustable to allow selective physical indexing of print/cartridges, either in registered or interlaced printing positions. A transverse location detection system detects and stores the relative transverse locations of the print/cartridges in either position so that print control electronics can coordinate the output of the print/cartridges transversely.

摘要： A printing system for printing on a print medium is disclosed. The printing system comprises two lineheads disposed opposite a first side of the print medium, wherein the two lineheads have a common orientation relative to a horizontal direction. At least one roller is disposed under each linehead and in contact with a second side of the print medium. At least one vacuum assembly is disposed under each linehead, each vacuum assembly having a vacuum manifold disposed opposite the second side of the print medium, where the vacuum manifold outputs a vacuum force proximate to the second side of the print medium such that at least a portion of the second side of the print medium is deflected away from the two lineheads.

摘要： A duplex printing system includes two printing stations, each having a print belt and a set of marking subsystems. In a sheet-printing mode, a media sheet is transported to the first printing station where the print belt is rotated to transport the sheet past the marking subsystems to print a first-side image. The sheet is then transported to the second printing station where the print belt is rotated to transport the sheet past the marking subsystems to print a second-side image. The sheet is then transported to an output sheet receptacle. In a web-printing mode the print belts are configured to rotate freely and a web of media is transported around the first print belt where a first-side image is printed, and from there around the second print belt where a second-side image is printed. A tensioning system is used to control the motion of the web of media.

摘要： A duplex printing system includes two printing stations, each having a print drum and a set of marking subsystems. In a sheet-printing mode, a media sheet is transported to the first printing station where the print drum is rotated to transport the sheet past the marking subsystems to print a first-side image. 摘要： A printing system includes a linehead that jets ink onto a moving print media to print a test block and an integrated imaging system positioned downstream of the linehead with respect to a media transport direction. The integrated imaging system includes an opening in a housing for receiving light reflected from a moving print media. A folded optical assembly in the housing receives the reflected light and transmits the light a distance. One or more image sensors, having known color filter arrays, within the housing each receive the light and capture one or more images of the printed test block. An image processing device is connected to the integrated imaging system for receiving pixel data from the one or more image sensors and configured to determine a color of the ink and a density of the printed test block using the pixel data.
