Abstract: An Ethernet header compression method and apparatus and an Ethernet header decompression method and apparatus. After receiving an Ethernet frame including a first to-be-compressed field, a compression end compresses an Ethernet header of the Ethernet frame based on a first correspondence including first compression information and a value of the first to-be-compressed field and the first compression information. Correspondingly, a decompression end decompresses an Ethernet header of a compressed Ethernet frame based on the first correspondence when receiving the compressed Ethernet frame. In the embodiments of this application, because the Ethernet header of the Ethernet frame is compressed, communication resources is saved.

One example method includes: A transmitting side receives an RLC status report from a receiving side, where the RLC status report includes at least one piece of status information, each of the at least one piece of status information indicates one or more receiving statuses of one or more consecutive RLC service data units (SDUs) that are not successfully received, and the at least one piece of status information is sequentially sorted in ascending order of RLC SDU sequence numbers (SNs) in the RLC status report; and if the last piece of status information in the RLC status report indicates that a part of data of a first RLC SDU is lost, the transmitting side determines, based on the RLC status report, whether a receiving status of the first RLC SDU is completely reflected in the RLC status report.

Abstract: A terminal device generates a report result including at least one of a logged minimization of drive tests report, an RLF report, and an RACH report. The logged minimization of drive tests report includes an identifier of a candidate access cell, information indicating whether the candidate access cell supports a network slice service initiated by the terminal device, location information of the terminal device where the terminal device receives a system message of the candidate access cell, and a network slice identifier of the network slice service initiated by the terminal device. The RLF report includes an identifier of a cell in which a radio link failure occurs after the terminal device accesses the cell and the network slice identifier corresponding to the network slice service in which the radio link failure occurs on the terminal device. The RACH report includes an identifier of a cell accessed by the terminal device and the network slice identifier. The terminal device sends the report result to a radio access network device to which a serving cell belongs.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a resource allocation method and an apparatus. In those embodiments, a terminal device obtains a first parameter indicating a maximum service data volume to be provided by an access network device for a first service in a first time length; and determines, based on the maximum service data volume, a resource of a media access control protocol data unit MAC PDU, the resource being occupied by buffered data of the first service. In those embodiments, the terminal device determines, based on the maximum service data volume of the first service, the resource of the MAC PDU. Compared with a conventional method, the maximum service data volume of the first service is considered. This helps improve reasonableness of allocating the resource of the MAC PDU to the data of the first service.

Abstract: A communications method and apparatus are provided. The method includes: A first access network device sends a first message to a core network device, where the first message is used to indicate to suspend one or both of a first PDU session and a second PDU session. The first PDU session and the second PDU session are PDU sessions that are established as requested by a same terminal, and are used to transmit a duplicated data packet. According to the method, when a condition for implementing reliable transmission is not met, the core network device can be indicated to suspend the PDU session. In this way, a PDU session does not need to be re-established, and signaling overheads for establishing the PDU session are saved.
