    摘要: A magnetic toner is formed of magnetic toner particles each comprising at least a binder resin and a magnetic iron oxide. The magnetic toner is provided with improved developing performances by realizing an appropriate surface-exposure state of the magnetic iron oxide, which is represented by a wettability characteristic in methanol/water mixture liquids of the magnetic toner such that it shows a transmittance of 80% for light at a wavelength of 780 nm at a methanol concentration in a range of 65-75% and a transmittance of 20% at a methanol concentration in a range of 66-76%.

    摘要: A two-component developer is formed as a mixture of a negatively chargeable toner and a resin-coated carrier. The toner comprises at least a binder resin, a colorant and an organic metal compound. The organic metal compound is an organic zirconium compound having a coordination or/and a bonding of zirconium and an aromatic compound as a ligand or/and an acid source selected from the group consisting of aromatic diols, aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids, aromatic monocarboxylic acids, and aromatic polycarboxylic acids. The toner further includes an external additive comprising hydrophobized inorganic fine powder having an average primary particle size of 0.001-0.2 &mgr;m. The resin-coated carrier has a 50%-particle size of 20-70 &mgr;m.

    摘要: A toner for developing an electrostatic image includes a binder resin, a colorant and a wax. The toner shows heat-absorption characteristics represented by a DSC heat-absorption curve obtained on temperature increase in a temperature range of 30-150.degree. C. by a differential scanning colorimeter (DSC). The DSC heat-absorption curve shows a maximum heat-absorption peak (P1) in a temperature range of 70-90.degree. C. The DSC curve also provides a differential curve showing a first maximum (Max1) on a lowest temperature side at a temperature (T1) of 50-65.degree. C., showing a second maximum (Max2) on a next lowest temperature side at a temperature (T2) of 65-85.degree. C., and showing a minimum (Min1) on a highest temperature side at a temperature (T3) of at least 95.degree. C. Because of the DSC heat-absorption characteristics, the toner exhibits excellent fixability (including anti-offset characteristic) over a wide temperature range and excellent continuous image forming characteristic.

    摘要: A toner for developing electrostatic images is prepared from a binder resin and a hydrocarbon wax. The toner is provided with improved fixability and anti-offset characteristic by controlling the thermal characteristic of the hydrocarbon wax so as to provide a DSC (differential scanning calorimeter) curve, showing an onset temperature of heat absorption in the range of 50.degree.-110.degree. C. and at least one heat absorption peak P1 in the range of 70.degree.-130.degree. C. giving a peak temperature T.sub.P1 on temperature increase, and showing a maximum heat evolution peak temperature in the range of T.sub.P1 .+-.9.degree. C. on temperature decrease. Correspondingly, the toner provides a DSC curve showing a rising temperature of heat absorption of at least 80.degree. C., an onset temperature of heat absorption of at most 105.degree. C. and a heat absorption peak temperature in the range of 100.degree.-120.degree. C., respectively on temperature increase, and showing a heat evolution peak temperature in the range of 62.degree.-75.degree. C. and a heat evolution peak intensity ratio of at least 5.times.10.sup.-3 on temperature decrease.

    摘要: An image forming method comprises the steps of feeding a magnetic toner onto a toner carrying member, wherein the magnetic toner comprises a binder resin and a magnetic powder with a volume average particle diameter ranging from 7 .mu.m to 10 .mu.m, and the magnetic toner particles have a quantity of triboelectric charge which satisfies the following expression:0.1.times.A+2.ltoreq.-Q.ltoreq.0.1.times.A+16.The magnetic toner is triboelectrically charged to impart a negative triboelectric charge to the magnetic toner. An electrostatic latent image is formed on a latent image carrying member by using the magnetic toner to form a toner image. Thereafter, the toner image is transferred to a transfer medium.
