    摘要: A lighting controller is disclosed that automatically adjusts a lighting device based on user activity. The disclosed lighting controller processes at least one of audio and video information to identify predefined user events that suggest that a lighting device should be activated or adjusted. In one implementation, a number of behavior rules define various user activities or events that suggest that the user would like to activate or adjust a lighting device. Each rule contains one or more conditions, and, optionally, a corresponding action-item that should be performed when the rule is satisfied to activate or adjust the lighting device. Upon detection of a predefined event, the corresponding action, if any, is performed by the lighting controller.

    摘要: A system and method for automatic setting of a variable speed limits permits changing road conditions provides for variable speed limits at respective portions of a road based on weather conditions reported by sensor. A plurality of variable speed limit indicators are arranged at predetermined intervals along a road. Sensing report local road conditions regarding humidity, precipitation, temperature, fog, ice, snow, hail, sleet, wind, etc. A regulating unit correlates the sensed weather conditions with a predetermined speed limit for each given condition at each respective portion of the road. A matrix of a database may contain historical accident information regarding the specific location or zone of any accidents, time of day, date, temperature, precipitation, estimated speed and severity of injuries for each accident. The historical data can be correlated with the sensing of weather conditions to adjust the speed limit to a somewhat lower than otherwise value based on the historical data of a respective location. Thus, roads having previously known dangerous portions will have slower speed limits in the rain or snow than other portions reporting the same conditions. Portions of the road can be identified as a bridge, which tends to freeze before the rest of the road, and the variable speed limit reduced to reflect the additional potential hazard.

Steps include quantizing the video color space; performing dominant color extraction by using a mode, median, mean, or weighted average of pixel chromaticities; applying perceptual rules to further derive dominant chromaticities via [1] chromaticity transforms; [2] a weighted average using a pixel weighting function influenced by scene content; and [3] extended dominant color extraction where pixel weighting is reduced for majority pixels; and [4] transforming the dominant color chosen to the ambient light color space using tristimulus matrices. A color of interest can be further analyzed to produce a true dominant color, and past video frames can guide selection of dominant colors in future frames.

    摘要: Flicker free operation of ambient light sources that emulate video content during low luminance conditions, where the ambient light source is output thresholded so that an on/off change of state of the ambient light source can be initiated after an intensity variable passes one or two thresholds. Output thresholding is used when extracting and processing video content encoded in a rendered color space, which can be decoded into frames tapped by an interframe interpolation process using only color information from selected frames, such as extracting average or other color information from an selected screen regions. Negative gamma correction helps prevent garish or inappropriate chromaticities and lumina.
