Abstract:
The motion determination apparatus includes a motion sensor for sensing motion of an electronic device and sending out a motion parameter. A processor receives the motion parameter to determine whether or not his motion is a meaningful motion. A device controller activates a device function according to the determination.
Abstract:
A handheld electronic device mainly includes a first casing, a second casing and an image-capturing apparatus. The first casing has a first surface and a second surface. The first casing has a display screen on the first surface and a window extending through the first surface and the second surface. The second casing is pivoted to the first casing. The second casing is permitted to move over the second surface of the first casing. The image-capturing apparatus is set up on the second casing for capturing images. When the second casing is located on the second surface of the first casing, the image-capturing apparatus and the display screen both faces the same direction so that the image-capturing apparatus can capture images of a user of the handheld electronic device facing the display screen. At this position, the image-capturing apparatus is exposed to the user through the window.
Abstract:
Dialing methods for use in a device having a keypad. The keypad comprises a plurality of dual-purpose keys and non-numerical-purpose keys. The dual-purpose key has different input definitions in a letter mode and a number mode, and the non-numerical-purpose key does not have a numerical input definition. First, at least one keystrokes are received, and an input sequence corresponding to the keystrokes is generated. If any one of the keystrokes corresponds to one of the non-numerical-purpose keys, at least one address record conforming to a letter input definition of the input sequence in the letter mode is retrieved from an address book for dialing accordingly.
Abstract:
An operating method and system and a storage medium using the same are provided. The operating method is applied to a handheld electronic device with at least two judging modes. First, the handheld electronic device receives a touch input, and determines a judging mode out of the judging modes according to a parameter related to the touch input. Then, the touch input is compared with a reference signal to obtain a deviation value. When the deviation value is smaller than the deviation threshold corresponding to the determined judging mode, an operation corresponding to the touch input is executed.
Abstract:
An operating method for a user interface is provided. The method is suitable for performing an input operation on a virtual control panel of a portable device by an input apparatus. The method comprises steps of receiving an input signal through the virtual control panel. Then, a type of the input apparatus for generating the input signal on the virtual control panel is determined. Thereafter, according to the type of the input apparatus, a corresponding sensory feedback is generated on the portable device.
Abstract:
A communication device includes a first casing, a second casing, a hinge, a keyboard and an antenna. The hinge is connected to the first casing and the second casing, so that the first casing is capable of rotating with respect to the second casing. The keyboard for inputting data is disposed at the second casing. The keyboard can be a QWERTY keyboard, a AZERTY keyboard, a QWERTZ keyboard or a DVORAK keyboard. The antenna for sending or receiving a communication signal is disposed in the first casing or the second casing.
Abstract:
A method of displaying controls in a touch panel includes detecting contact of an object with the touch panel, determining a dimension of the object contacting the touch panel, and increasing a size of controls corresponding to the contact of the object when the dimension of the object is greater than a predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
A method for browsing a user interface for an electronic device and the software thereof are provided. A processor in the electronic device receives an input signal through a touch sensor. Then the processing unit determines the type of the input tool which generates the input signal. Finally, a user interface browsing function is enabled or disabled automatically according to the tool type. As a result, the convenience of operating the electronic device is increased.
Abstract:
An intuitive image navigator is described. The intuitive image navigator comprises a direction control device and a rotational control ring. The image direction control device moves an image shown on a display of an electronic device, for example, an electronic map on a display of a portable electronic device. The rotational control ring is configured around the image direction control device to control the display condition of the image on the display. The image direction control device provides an intuitive omni-directional variable-speed scrolling function and the rotational control ring provides a stepless variable-speed changing function for browsing the image.
Abstract:
Item selection methods. Users touch, drag, and release contact along a touch-sensitive mechanism to select software hotkeys or menu items on a display screen. As soon as contact is made with and remains on the surface of the sensor, a menu appears on the display screen. Sustained contact and dragging along the touch-sensitive mechanism moves or scrolls through content items. When contact is terminated with the touch-sensitive mechanism, the highlighted content item is selected for launching.
