摘要： An image recording apparatus which produces an image on a photosensitive recoding medium through a light shieldable mask image carried on a light transmissive member. The apparatus comprises; a mask image forming means provided at a mask image forming zone for forming the light shieldable mask on the light transmissive member; exposure means for exposing the photosensitive recording medium to light through the light transmissive member carrying the mask in an exposure zone for forming a latent image corresponding to the mask image on the photosensitive recording medium, the mask image forming zone being identical with the exposure zone; developing means for developing the latent image into a visible image on the photosensitive recording medium; and, a holding means for selectively holding portions of the light transmissive member extending outside of the exposure zone and maintaining the light transmissive member in the exposure zone during the mask image formation and during the exposure.

摘要： An image forming apparatus which may include an apparatus body, a feed tray, an image forming unit, an eject section and a first transport mechanism forming a first transport path extending between the feed tray and the eject section via the image forming unit. The image forming apparatus may also include a second transport mechanism forming a second transport path that extends between a branch position located downstream of the image forming unit on the first transport path and a merge position located upstream of the image forming unit on the first transport path. The second transport mechanism may be configured to transport the recording medium along the second transport path and reintroduce the recording medium to the first transport path from the merge position. At least one part of the second transport mechanism and the feed tray may be incorporated in a detachable unit.

摘要： A holder unit is configured to hold a plurality of photosensitive drums such that the plurality of photosensitive drums are arrayed in a predetermined direction and juxtaposed with each other with a space between neighboring photosensitive drums. A plurality of developing units is held by the holder unit, each is provided in association with each photosensitive drum, and each includes a developing roller displaceable between a contact position where the developing roller is in contact with the photosensitive drum and a spaced position where the developing roller is spaced away from the photosensitive drum. A spacer member has a plurality of retaining portions each in association with each developing unit and configured to retain each developing unit at the spaced position, and a linking portion integral with the retaining portions and configured to connect neighboring retaining portions therethrough in the predetermined direction.

The holder holds a plurality of photosensitive drums arrayed in a predetermined array direction, and movable in an accommodating direction to be accommodatable in the main frame. Each of the pair of metal plates has a downstream end portion in the accommodating direction provided with a positioning portion. The pair of second side walls are each fixed to each first side wall and made from a metal. Each second side wall includes a major portion supporting the exposure unit, and an extension portion extending from the major portion toward the photosensitive drum.
