摘要: A bulb-type lamp having both heat dissipation and size/weight reduction properties with a lower thermal load on a lighting circuit. An LED module is mounted in a case with a base member to allow dissipation of heat. An LED mount member closes another end of the case and allows conduction of heat to the case. A lighting circuit receives power via the base member. The lighting circuit is disposed inside a circuit holder. An air space exists between the circuit holder and both the case and the mount member. The lighting circuit is isolated from the air space by the circuit holder. A relationship 0.5≦S1/S2≦3.0, is satisfied where S1 denotes an area of a portion of the mount member in contact with the case and S2 denotes an area of the portion of the mount member in contact with a substrate of the LED module.

摘要: [Problem to be Solved] To provide a bulb-type lamp that can achieve improvement in the heat dissipation properties and size/weight reduction simultaneously, and that can lighten thermal load on a lighting circuit.[Solution] A bulb-type lamp 1 is composed of: an LED module 3 including LEDs; a cylindrically-shaped case 7, to one end of which a base member 15 is attached and which allows dissipation of heat therefrom, the heat being generated by the LEDs emitting light; a mount member 5, on which the LED module 3 is mounted, which closes the other end of the case 7, and allows conduction of the heat to the case 7; a lighting circuit 11 that, upon receiving power via the base member 15, causes the LEDs to emit light; and a circuit holder 13 positioned inside the case 7, with the lighting circuit 11 disposed inside the circuit holder 13. The air space exists between the circuit holder 13 and the case7, and between the circuit holder 13 and the mount member 5. Hence, the lighting circuit 11 is isolated from the air space due to the presence of the circuit holder 13. In the bulb-type lamp 1, a fraction S1/S2 satisfies a relationship 0.5≦S1/S2, where S1 denotes an area of a portion of the mount member 5 that is in contact with the case 7, and S2 denotes an area of a portion of the mount member 5 that is in contact with a substrate 17 of the LED module 3.

摘要: A short-arc high-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp includes a pair of electrodes in an arc tube and encloses mercury, a rare gas, and so forth in the arc tube. The lamp is so constructed as to be operated at a lamp current of, for example, about 1.5 A or higher, or at a lamp voltage/lamp current ratio of about 37.5 (V/A) or lower. In addition, the distance between the electrodes, and the like are set so that the rated power per unit arc length P/d≧88 (W/mm) and the tube wall loading Pw (rated power P/internal surface area of the arc tube)≦1.0 (W/mm2). Thus, a lamp is constructed having, even with a relatively low lamp voltage, a high lamp power of, for example, 125 W or higher, having a short arc length and a high luminous flux per unit arc length, and furthermore being one in which damage to the arc tube does not occur.

摘要: In a quartz glass tube body for high-pressure discharge lamp, the devitrification occurs during lighting, a light flux decreases and finally the useful life ends, where the main cause of this devitrification phenomenon is reaction between a sealed substance and the quartz glass tube body. It is one object of the present invention to attain the longer useful life, for example, of a high-pressure discharge lamp by preventing such a phenomenon. According to the present invention, a coating is made up by forming one or more oxynitride layers of an element chosen from among aluminum, tantalum, niobium, vanadium, chromium, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, yttrium, scandium, magnesium, silicon and lanthanum rare earth elements. By incorporating a bilayer coating on the inside wall of said hollow tube body, for example, that is composed of an aluminum oxynitride layer and an aluminum nitride layer obtained from application of a high-frequency wave between the sputter electrodes and generation of a glow discharge, a durable coating can be formed, thereby enabling the useful life of a high-pressure discharge lamp to be lengthened.

摘要: A thin-film transistor array is suited for the manufacture of an image display utilizing liquid crystal. In the thin-film transistor array, a first electrically conductive layer made principally of aluminum is selectively formed on one surface of a substrate. The first electrically conductive layer contains, as an impurity, a high-melting point metal which can be anodized. An oxide layer is formed by an anodization process on the first electrically conductive layer, and the first insulating layer is formed on the oxide layer so as to overlay the substrate. Furthermore, a first semiconductor layer made principally of silicon is selectively formed on the insulating layer, and a pair of second semiconductor layers made principally of silicon containing phosphorus are formed on the first semiconductor layer. A pair of second electrically conductive layers are formed on the paired second semiconductor layers, respectively.

摘要: An improved arrangement of a liquid crystal display device is provided in which the redundancy of a known but unwanted TFT (thin film transistor) defect is suppressed so that the yield per finished liquid crystal display device product can be increased without deterioration in the picture quality. Each pixel of the liquid crystal display device arranged at an intersection of one of scanning lines and one of signal lines is provided with two or three TFTs and also, a storage capacitor which is formed of a portion of a gate insulating layer and is sandwiched between its electrode and a preceding scanning line in the previous row using no extra masking procedure. The source, drain and gate electrodes of both the first and third TFTs are respectively coupled to the same signal line, the electrode of the same pixel and the adjacent scanning lines. The gate, source and drain electrodes of the second TFT are respectively coupled to the same scanning line to which the gate electrode of the first TFT is coupled, the electrode of the same pixel and the electrode of a succeeding pixel provided on the opposite side of the scanning line with respect to the same pixel. The arrangement also has a scanning driver circuit capable of activating two scanning lines at the same time for a sequential one-by-one scanning operation, whereby no fault in a reproduced image will be perceived in spite of the presence of a defective TFT.
