    摘要: A method for reducing cross-talk on a liquid crystal display begins by receiving pixel data defining an image comprising a plurality of pixels; the received pixel data includes an intensity value associated with each pixel. The image is compressed by reducing the range of the intensity values of all the pixels in the image; the compressing step comprising arithmetically adjusting the intensity values of the pixels. Lines in the compressed image that are disposed to create cross-talk are identified. The image is then decompressed by applying a scale factor to the adjusted intensity value associated only with the pixels in the identified lines. The scale factor is selected such that a display image rendered on a liquid crystal display from the pixel data of the decompressed image has less cross-talk than a display image rendered on a liquid crystal display from the received pixel data.

    摘要: A system and method for compensating for non-uniform illumination from a light guide for a display in an electronics device is provided. The system comprises: a memory device storing a data representing a first compensation pattern for generation on the display to block light from a first portion of the light guide relative to light from a second portion of the light guide; a first module to incorporate the stored representation into an image to be displayed on the display; and a second module to generate the image with the stored representation for display on the display. In the system, when the first module generates the first compensation pattern on the display, the first compensation pattern aligns with the first and second portions to reduce an intensity of light from a light source passing through the first compensation pattern from the first portion relative to an intensity of light passing through the first compensation pattern from the second portion from the light source.

    摘要: An improved handheld electronic device and camera apparatus upon which can be executed an improved method enable a modular camera to be used in conjunction with a flash. In one implementation, compensation parameters that are intended for use in a non-flash situation are overwritten with compensation parameters that are configured to compensate for the combined effects of the camera and the flash and are used by an embedded compensation routine executed on the camera. In another implementation, an image signal is processed by the embedded compensation routine using the original compensation parameters, but if it is determined that the image signal is a flash image signal, the image signal is further processed by the embedded compensation routine employing an additional set of parameters which compensate the image signal for the effect of the flash.

The method involves measuring the battery voltage before and after a flash is initiated and calculating the equivalent series resistance (ESR) of the battery. The calculated ESR is then used to adjust the flash current. The process may be repeated to correct for errors in the flash current.
