摘要: Disclosed is a mobile telecommunication system in which packet data is transmitted over an uplink, and particularly a method and an apparatus for transmitting control information from a UE to a Node B. By multiplexing, several upper layer data units and MAC layer control information are included in a packet which the UE transmits during one transmission period in the uplink. A header of the packet accommodates multiplexing information, and thus the Node B uses the multiplexing information for demultiplexing upper layer data units from the packet. When the packet accommodates only the MAC layer control information, the UE does not insert the header into the packet, thereby reducing the packet size. The Node B then determines whether the packet includes only the control information or the upper layer data units together with the header.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for uplink data transmission using an enhanced uplink dedicated channel (E-DCH) in a mobile telecommunication system which employs a code division multiple access (CDMA) scheme are provided. User equipment (UE) located in a handover area related to a cell supporting the E-DCH and a cell not supporting the E-DCH configures a radio bearer including the E-DCH and a radio bearer including an uplink dedicated channel (DCH) such that they are mapped to one uplink logical channel, and transmits uplink data through any one radio bearer selected by the UE or a serving radio network controller (SRNC). Thus, a delay time due to radio bearer reconfigurations and signaling overhead for the radio bearer reconfigurations are reduced.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for enabling a UE to perform accurate and efficient cell reselection in a cellular mobile communications system. If reselection to the same cell is repeated, the UE releases itself from a high-speed UE state or excludes the number of reselections to the same cell from the number of cell changes counted for a duration set for deciding as to the high-speed UE state, according to a ping-pong duration threshold and a ping-pong occurrence number threshold. The UE uses a non-scaled down cell reselection time limit in a non-high-speed UE state, and a scaled-down cell reselection time limit in the high-speed UE state. Thus, the UE reselects to a non-serving cell having the highest ranking continuously for the cell reselection time limit.

摘要: A method and apparatus is provided for signaling network sharing information about neighbor cells in an NS system where a RAN is shared among a plurality of CN operators. In the signaling method, it is determined whether each of neighbor cells of a current cell in which a UE is located, is shared by a CN operator other than a CN operator controlling the neighbor cell. System information without network sharing information is generated if at least one of the neighbor cells is shared by a CN operator other than a CN operator controlling the neighbor cell. System information including the network sharing information is generated if none of the neighbor cells are shared by any CN operator other than CN operators controlling the neighbor cells. The system information is then broadcast to the UE from the current cell.

摘要: A method and apparatus for reporting a Buffer Status (BS) using Node B-estimated BS information in a mobile communication system are provided. A Node B-estimated BS and an actual BS of a User Equipment (UE) are monitored. A value of the Node B-estimated BS is compared with a first threshold value. If the Node B-estimated BS value is less than the first threshold, a determination is made as to whether the value of the actual BS is more than a second threshold. If the actual BS value is more than the second threshold, a Buffer Status Report (BSR) indicative of the actual BS is transmitted to a Node B.

摘要: A method for minimizing overhead occurring caused by control information for encryption performed to protect MBMS data for an MBMS service in a mobile communication system. This method is implemented by distinguishing a case in which control information used for encryption is updated from another case in which the control information used for encryption is not updated, and transmitting different control information according to the distinguishment result. That is, when the control information used for encryption is not updated, only minimized control information is transmitted, and when the control information for encryption is updated, the entire updated control information is transmitted. Accordingly, the amount of control information transmitted along with MBMS data is minimized, contributing to an increase in the amount of MBMS data transmitted per unit time.
