Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for link state flooding between a network node and a receiving node includes determining a current transmit rate that Link State Protocol Data Units (LSPs) are being transmitted from the network node to the receiving node. The method further includes determining an LSP acknowledgment rate that indicates a rate at which a plurality of LSP acknowledgments are received at the network node from the receiving node. The method further includes determining a new transmit rate based on the current transmit rate and the LSP acknowledgment rate. The method further includes transmitting a plurality of LSPs from the network node to the receiving node using the new transmit rate.

Abstract: A network adapter includes a host interface, a network interface, a memory and packet processing circuitry. The memory holds a shared buffer and multiple queues allocated to the multiple host processors. The packet processing circuitry is configured to receive from the network interface data packets destined to the host processors, to store payloads of at least some of the data packets in the shared buffer, to distribute headers of at least some of the data packets to the queues, to serve the data packets to the host processors by applying scheduling among the queues, to detect congestion in the data packets destined to a given host processor among the host processors, and, in response to the detected congestion, to mitigate the congestion in the data packets destined to the given host processor, while retaining uninterrupted processing of the data packets destined to the other host processors.

Abstract: Technologies for quality of service based throttling in a fabric architecture include a network node of a plurality of network nodes interconnected across the fabric architecture via an interconnect fabric. The network node includes a host fabric interface (HFI) configured to facilitate the transmission of data to/from the network node, monitor quality of service levels of resources of the network node used to process and transmit the data, and detect a throttling condition based on a result of the monitored quality of service levels. The HFI is further configured to generate and transmit a throttling message to one or more of the interconnected network nodes in response to having detected a throttling condition. The HFI is additionally configured to receive a throttling message from another of the network nodes and perform a throttling action on one or more of the resources based on the received throttling message. Other embodiments are described herein.

Abstract: A network includes an egress node connected to an ingress node via a network path. The egress node is configured to receive, from the ingress node, a group of packets via the network path, where each packet includes an operations, administration, and management (OAM) field appended to the packet, and where the OAM field stores OAM information. The egress node is further configured to read the OAM information from the packets; analyze the OAM information, associated with one or more of the packets, to determine that a network condition exists on the network path; and notify the ingress node that the network condition exists to permit the ingress node to perform a rerouting operation.

Abstract: A method, a controller, and a system for service flow control in an object-based storage system are disclosed. The method is: receiving, by a controller, a first object IO request; acquiring a processing quantity threshold and a to-be-processed quantity; if the to-be-processed quantity is less than the processing quantity threshold, sending the first object IO request to a storage device client, and updating the to-be-processed quantity; receiving a first response message replied by the storage device client for the first object IO request, where the first response message carries a processing result of the first object IO request; and adjusting the processing quantity threshold according to a received processing result of an object IO request when a preset condition is met. The storage device is not overloaded with object IO requests and can use all resources to effectively, thereby improving performance and a success rate of the object-based storage system.

Abstract: Relating to Active Queue Management (AQM) in wireless communication networks, a method of congestion control in a first network node. The first network node is operable in a wireless communication network utilizing a distributed queue system for in-sequence delivery of data packets between the first network node and a second network node. A condition indicative of congestion is detected by the first network node. In response thereto, a control message is transmitted from the first network node to the second network node. The control message comprises an instruction to the second network node to discard, or distort, a subsequent data packet. The receiving, network node is thus made aware of the congestions situation relatively quickly. Accordingly, the second network node may speedily take appropriate measures by discarding, or distorting, a subsequent data packet and thereby establish a congestion avoidance mechanism.

Abstract: A multiple channel data transfer system (10) includes a source (12) that generates data packets with sequence numbers for transfer over multiple request channels (14). Data packets are transferred over the multiple request channels (14) through a network (16) to a destination (18). The destination (18) re-orders the data packets received over the multiple request channels (14) into a proper sequence in response to the sequence numbers to facilitate data processing. The destination (18) provides appropriate reply packets to the source (12) over multiple response channels (20) to control the flow of data packets from the source (12).
