摘要: A ticket processing terminal device includes a hopper to store medium that is to become prescribed tickets, a separation and pick-up section for separating and picking up one sheet of medium at a time from the hopper, a stacker to store those of the tickets inserted through the insertion opening which are replaced by the medium, a print section for printing on the ticket that has been inserted through the insertion opening or the medium picked up from the hopper, and is to be discharged through a discharge opening, a transport path to transport the tickets and medium between the above mentioned component elements, and a ticket information reader for magnetically or optically reading the information that has been given to the ticket, and a magnetic write section disposed along the transport path for writing, erasing or rewriting on the magnetic stripe if the ticket inserted through the insertion opening or the medium picked up from the hopper has such a magnetic stripe. The terminal device can accept a plurality of tickets, temporarily store them, and subsequently reissue either modified versions of less than the original number inserted or a new medium to replace the plural inserted tickets.

摘要: A tandem type master cylinder for use in a vehicle hydraulic brake system and having a pressure proportioning valve integrally connected thereto includes a piston slidably received in a bore in the master cylinder and defining a pressure chamber at least on one side thereof, and an actuating member or a slide slidable in directions parallel to the piston and having a sensing end and an actuating end projecting respectively from opposite surfaces thereof. The sensing end passes through a slit formed in the circumferential wall of the bore to project into the pressure chamber in the master cylinder. The actuating end cooperates with a valve member of the pressure proportioning valve such that when the piston is displaced beyond a predetermined normal reciprocating stroke the actuating member is slidingly displaced to tilt the valve member, thereby deactivating the pressure proportioning valve.

摘要: Disclosed is a device by which a defective product is removed from a path through which products are continually fed. The device has a feeder feeding products, a sensor detecting defective products, and a remover taking the defective products from the path. The sensor outputs a signal denoting a defect in either the trailing half of a first product or the leading half of an adjacent second product. The remover has a function for obtaining the number which is a quotient obtained by dividing the distance between the sensor and the remover by the length of a normal product. The remover takes out the defective and the adjacent product when the number of products passing the remover is equal to the quotient obtained by the above calculation.

摘要: The present invention is an electrophotographic copying apparatus which includes a group of switches disposed along the path of the copy paper. These switches are so arranged as to control the functions of corona charging, exposure and aligning the forward edge of the image formed on the photoreceptor with the leading edge of the copy paper, while the starting of the transfer device and the function of the copy paper separation device are controlled through a control cam which is driven by actuating signals produced by one of these switches. Since the developing and transfer functions are arranged to be suspended by a drum cam rotating as one unit with the photoreceptor drum, the possibility of copy paper jamming is decreased to a large extent through reduction of the number of switches employed, while undesirable developing and transfer at the slot portion or seam portion of the photoreceptor are advantageously eliminated.

摘要: A temperature control network for a toner fusing device in an electrostatic copier, includes a temperature sensing member located within the toner fusing device generating an electric signal corresponding to the temperature within the toner fusing device to control the electric power supplied to the fusing device heating unit by way of a bridge and differential amplifier circuit to maintain the temperature in the toner fusing device constant, while the electric signal from the temperature sensing member controls other devices in the electrophotographic reproducing apparatus, when the temperature in the fusing device reaches a toner fusible temperature upon starting the operation of the electrostatic copier or when the toner fusing device is cooled to a temperature below a given temperature upon the termination of the operation of the electrostatic copier.

摘要: Non-contact, liquid-ejecting bearings (3) are provided for conveying flexible glass sheets (13), such as LCD substrates, at high conveyance speeds, e.g., speeds of 15 meters/minute and above. The operating parameters and physical properties of the bearings satisfy at least one of the following conditions: (a) the average flow rate from the bearing's orifices (22) is in the range of 100-800 milliliters/minute/orifice; (b) the orifices' average horizontal pitch (P) is in the range of 20-55 millimeters; and/or (c) the orifices' average size (e.g., D0) is in the range of 1.0-4.5 millimeters. The bearings (3) can reduce the time-averaged, peak-to-peak variation in the spacing between a LCD substrate (13) traveling at 15 meters/minute and the face (20) of the bearing (3) to less than 100 microns, thus reducing the chances that the bearing (3) will lose control of the substrate (13) or that the substrate (13) will hit the bearing (3).

摘要: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for etching flexible glass sheets (13) in which the sheets (13) are transported in a vertical or near vertical orientation past non-contact, liquid-ejecting bearings (3) which apply an etching solution (e.g., an aqueous NaF/H3PO4 solution) to one or both sides of the sheets (13). In certain embodiments, the uppermost liquid-ejecting bearing (3) is above the top edge of the sheet (13) and thus is able to apply etching solution to the top of the sheet. In other embodiments, a top shower (11), which includes a set of spray nozzles (21) located above and distributed along the length of the apparatus, is used to apply etching solution to the top of the sheet (13). Using the disclosed methods and apparatus, glass sheets (13) produced by a fusion process are provided which have areas greater than five square meters and average surface roughness values in the range of 0.5 nanometers to 1.1 nanometers.
