摘要： A mobile phone has a mobile phone housing in which are integrated an actuator and a telephone module. The actuator can vibrate the housing to give a haptic or tactile alert to the user. The actuator is to vibrate in accordance with an input signal. The telephone module activates the input signal during the making of an outgoing call to a destination phone, so that the housing vibrates to alert the user while the destination phone is ringing. In another embodiment, the telephone module signals a display screen integrated in the housing, to show a graphic indicative of the outgoing call. In addition, the telephone module activates the input signal for the backlight of the display screen during the making of the outgoing call, so that the backlight flashes the display screen while the destination phone is ringing. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

摘要： A portable handheld test fixture has an acoustic port, e.g. a speaker port, a microphone, and/or an earpiece/receiver port. Once the media device has been installed onto the test fixture, the port becomes acoustically coupled to a respective acoustic aperture of the media device that is associated with a speaker, a microphone, or an earpiece/receiver as the case may be. A sound test tool, e.g. a reference sound source and/or a sound pressure level, SPL, meter, has an input or output sound port that can be removably coupled to the acoustic port of the test fixture. 摘要： Systems and methods for providing security to a user of an electronic device are provided. An electronic device can be configured to enter a prevention mode in response to detecting a force that exceeds a predetermined threshold, thereby providing security. Embodiments are described wherein the device, upon entering a prevention mode, may transmit a security transmission, in the form of a telephone call or an e-mail. This security transmission, when received by a security entity, can lead to the security entity dispatching an officer to the device's location, or to the security entity placing a telephone call to the device's owner, thereby providing security. Embodiments are also provided whereby the device, upon entering a prevention mode, may enter a lock-down mode. When in lock-down mode, the device may become inaccessible by any user, or alternatively may be accessed only if a security password is provided by the user.

The method can also include determining whether the constraint indicates that the feature is currently accessible to the user, and permitting access to the feature when the indication is that the feature is currently accessible to the user. Finally, access to the feature can be denied if the indication is that the feature is not currently accessible to the user.

A preferred method aspect includes providing a plurality of memory banks for data, and decoding input signals that indicate accessing of at least one of the plurality of memory banks for a desired plurality of words of data. The method further includes splitting data access across the plurality of memory banks to allow parallel selection of an output from at least one of the plurality of memory banks as the desired plurality of words of the data, wherein latency of data access is amortized. A system aspect for improving data transfer from memory to a texture mapping unit includes a plurality of cache banks for storing texel data, a bank decode unit coupled to the plurality of cache banks for decoding a plurality of input signals indicative of selection of texel data from one or more of the plurality of banks, and selection control logic for receiving decoded address data from the bank decode unit and controlling selection of the plurality of cache banks to retrieve the texel data for output to the texture mapping unit.
