Abstract:
The invention relates to an error recognition device for detecting an error in an electrical component (1), comprising a first detector (12), a second detector (13) for detecting a parameter characteristic of current flows, and a triggering unit (10) for interrupting a current flow through the electrical component (1) by means of a switch (S2), depending on the parameter characteristic of the detected current flows.
Abstract:
A plate, e.g., a license plate for motor vehicles, includes a base body which is made of an electrically conductive material, or has an electrically conductive layer applied either directly or via a further layer. Thus, the electrically conductive base body or its electrically conductive coating forms a first electrode of a flat capacitor. A layer having an electroluminescent pigmentation is applied on the base body or the electrically conductive layer. The electroluminescent coating may be applied by various methods, e.g., spray painting, brushing, special screen-printing methods, etc. To create the electrical field, it may be necessary to apply to the electroluminescent layer an electrically conductive layer for forming the second electrode.
Abstract:
The invention provides a long steel reinforced concrete deadman with superior strength for anchoring underground storage tanks (USTs). Reinforcing steel bars about 0.88 inches in diameter provide an advantageously high ultimate flexural strength capacity for a concrete deadman. Among the advantages offered by high flexural strength is the ability to use a longer deadman about 30 feet or more in length, which simplifies installation of USTs, especially in a flooded hole.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a human-machine interface for a telediagnosis system. The data conversion, the data completion, the data preparation and the computation of a diagnosis result ensue in a central diagnosis center provided in the form of a call center. The computed diagnosis result is displayed in completed form on a display screen whereby enabling a selected assistant in the call center to view the result. The communications expense for the telediagnosis can be considerably reduced, in particular, by the data completion being performed first in the central diagnosis center. As a result, the exchange of complete text files is unnecessary. This enables, in particular, the use of the SMS standard from the mobile radio telephone industry. An error message is conveyed from the technical system to be diagnosed, particularly from the vehicle to be diagnosed, by means of an SMS message. This SMS message is evaluated by a diagnostic program, and a first diagnosis result is computed. This first diagnosis result is automatically converted into an XML structure by the human-machine interface, and is supplemented with additional data concerning the vehicle or from the vehicle according to further evaluation of the first diagnosis result. The data completion automatically ensues once triggered by the original SMS. This diagnosis result supplemented in such a manner and the prepared diagnosis result are displayed on a display screen whereby enabling the assistant in the call center to view the result. This relieves the burden placed upon the assistant of many routine requests for additional information.
Abstract:
Generating a dynamic legend for a drawing developed by a diagramming software program. A drawing sheet module and legend module, logically-coupled to the drawing sheet module, are useful for generating and updating a dynamic legend. The legend module can support the addition of a legend to a drawing sheet. The legend module can also determine if legend symbols should be automatically added to the legend. If legend symbols are added to a drawing sheet, that addition can be automatically reflected in the dynamic legend. Symbols can be converted such that they may be reflected in a dynamic legend.
Abstract:
A lockable electric power cord adapter has a unitary housing containing male plug blade receiving member therein wherein each blade receiving member has a pivotable locking member mounted thereon. The blade receiving member has a hole therein for allowing a barbed end of the locking member to pass therethrough and engage a hole in the male plug blade in the locking position. An actuator has actuating lugs thereon which pivot the locking members to an unlocked position when the actuating member is pushed against a biasing spring.
Abstract:
The invention relates to optical diffuser plates (1) made of transparent plastics such as polycarbonate or polymethacrylate. Several thin strips (2) made of plastic B inserted into plates made of transparent plastic A with the proviso that A and B are incompatible and the strips (2) made of plastic B are subsequently withdrawn. The hollows that are formed in the plate (1) made of plastic A are used to deflect light.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method for preparation of a liquid polymer composition, where ethylenically unsaturated monomers are polymerized by means of initiators that have a transferable atomic group, and one or more catalysts that contain at least one transition metal, in the presence of ligands that can form a coordination compound with the metallic catalysts, the catalyst is oxidized after the polymerization and then the catalyst is separated by filtration, where the composition contains a solvent with a dielectric constant less than or equal to 4.
