    Abstract: A holographic display apparatus includes a spatial light modulator configured to generate hologram patterns to modulate light; an illuminator configured to emit the light to the spatial light modulator; and a controller configured to control operations of the spatial light modulator and the illuminator, the spatial light modulator being configured to generate, from among the hologram patterns, a first hologram pattern and a second hologram pattern according to the control operations of the controller, the first hologram pattern and the second hologram pattern being configured to form a first hologram image and a second hologram image having different viewpoints, and the controller being configured to set a first phase modulation value of the first hologram pattern and a second phase modulation value of the second hologram pattern to be different from each other such that hologram images having different viewpoints are formed.

    Abstract: A beam steering apparatus includes a transformation layer, of which a refraction index is changed by light irradiation, a pattern layer arranged on the transformation layer and comprises a plurality of patterns, and a light irradiation unit arranged under the transformation layer. The pattern layer has patterns of a metasurface shape to reflect an external laser. The light irradiation unit may emit light having different characteristics.

    Abstract: Provided is a back light unit (BLU) for holographic display. The BLU includes a first diffraction grating attached to a waveguide, a second diffraction grating that supplies light to the first diffraction grating, a light source that supplies light to the second diffraction grating, and a light reflection element that reflects light towards the first diffraction grating. The back light unit may further include a lens that is disposed in front of the waveguide. The light reflection element may be disposed parallel to a rear surface of the waveguide. The light reflection element may be inclined with respect to the rear surface of the waveguide. The light reflection element may be a mirror or a prism array.
