Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Present disclosure provides a method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The method includes obtaining a transport block (TB) of a transmission associated with a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process; determining that the transmission is a new transmission based on a first condition, wherein the first condition includes that: the HARQ process is associated with a transmission indicated with a multicast, and broadcast service control channel-radio network temporary identifier (MCCH-RNTI) for a multicast and broadcast service (MBS) broadcast and the transmission is a first received transmission for the TB according to an MCCH schedule indicated by a radio resource control (RRC), or the HARQ process is associated with a transmission indicated with a group-RNTI (G-RNTI) for a MBS broadcast, and the transmission is a first received transmission for the TB according to a multicast and broadcast service traffic channel (MTCH) schedule indicated by the RRC or according to a schedule indicated by a downlink control indicator (DCI).

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for supporting multiple measurement gaps in a wireless network by a radio access network node (RAN node) is provided. The method includes creating a radio resource control (RRC) message comprising one of a RRC Reconfiguration or a RRC Resume with additional Information Elements (IEs) for configuration of the multiple measurement gaps, transmitting the RRC message with the additional IEs in the gap configuration of each of the measurement gap to a user equipment (UE) in the wireless network for configuration of the multiple measurement gaps. Further, the method includes receiving an RRC message comprising of one of an RRC Reconfiguration Complete or an RRC Resume Complete indicating successful application of the received measurement gap configuration from the UE.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes method and system for notifying resource capability of user equipment. In accordance with the embodiments, the method includes determining an event related to one or more multimedia multicast-broadcast service (MBMS) service of interest to the UE in receive only mode (ROM) session when a system information related to MBMS is not broadcasted by a serving cell after transmission of an interest indication for MBMS service to the serving cell wherein the event indicates one of: (a) the UE is not interested in the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session; and (b) the UE is not in reception of the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session; and transmitting a ROM service interest indication for the one or more MBMS service through the ROM session corresponding to the determined event to the serving cell.

Abstract: A method of Physical Multicast Channel (PMCH) decoding for Multicast Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) by a UE includes decoding a Transport Block (TB) in a first sub-frame of a Multicast Channel Scheduling Period (MSP) by a Physical (PHY) layer in the UE; providing the decoded TB to a Media Access Control (MAC) layer; performing blind decoding on all received MBSFN sub-frames, until the PHY layer receives PMCH scheduling configuration from the MAC layer; selecting at least one Logical Channel IDentifier (LCID) and Multicast Transport Channel (MTCH) scheduling information for each LCID by decoding a Multicast Channel Scheduling Information Protocol Data Unit (MSI PDU), the MSI PDU present in the decoded TB; building a PMCH scheduling configuration by the MAC layer based on the selected at least one LCID and the MTCH scheduling information; passing the PMCH scheduling configuration to the PHY layer by the MAC layer; and applying the PMCH scheduling configuration.
