Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein disclose a method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a communication system. The method may include detecting a transition of the UE from a CONNECTED state to an IDLE state or an INACTIVE state, determining, whether the UE is configured or capable to receive a tracking reference signal (TRS) configuration from the network node in case that the UE transitions from the CONNECTED state to the IDLE state or the INACTIVE state, and receiving a system information block x (SIBx) message including the TRS configuration that is broadcasted by the network node and synchronizing with the network node by utilizing the TRS configuration in case that the UE is configured or capable to receive the TRS configuration from the network node in the IDLE state or the INACTIVE state.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for handling network energy saving (NES) in a wireless network is provided. The method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE) a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message from a network entity, wherein the RRC reconfiguration message includes at least one of a cell discontinuous reception (Cell-DRX) configuration and a cell discontinuous transmission (Cell-DTX) configuration for at least one serving cell, performing at least one of an activation and deactivation for at least one of the Cell-DRX configuration and the Cell-DTX configuration by at least one of the RRC reconfiguration message and a downlink control information (DCI) termed as DCI X, and handling the NES in the wireless network upon performing at least one of the activation and deactivation for at least one of the Cell-DRX configuration and the Cell-DTX configuration.

The method includes receiving, from a second network, a paging request on a second SIM in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state, while receiving service on a first SIM from a first network and in case that the MUSIM UE rejects the paging request, and criteria for transmitting a busy indication is met, transmitting the busy indication to the second network in response to the paging request, and in case that the MUSIM UE rejects the paging request, and the criteria for transmitting the busy indication is met, avoid transmitting the busy indication to the second network in response to the paging request.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method for performing a measurement operation for Multicast and Broadcast Services (MBS) in 5G is disclosed. The method includes receiving at a User Equipment (UE), a message from a network for configuring the UE comprising at least one of one or more configurations, and one or more reference signals of one or more of a Bandwidth Part (BWP) or a Common Frequency Resource (CFR) associated with one of a unicast and the MBS. The method includes performing a measurement operation for the MBS reception for the one or more configurations based on the one or more reference signals associated with one or more of the unicast and the MBS. The method further includes generating a measurement report associated with the MBS reception based on a measurement of the MBS.

Further, the method includes sending, by the gNodeB, an indication to the UE indicating the at least one MBS going to get suspended or deactivated prior to suspension or deactivation of the at least one MBS at the UE.
