摘要： A magnetic head apparatus has a reduced thickness by preventing a jumping action of a magnetic head that can occur in a head-up state. A leaf spring has a first end and a second end opposite to the first end, and the leaf spring supporting the magnetic head at the first end, the leaf spring having a surface facing the magnetic medium. A mount member holds the leaf spring, the leaf spring being mounted to the mount member at the second end. A supporting portion extends from the mount member, and engages the surface of the leaf spring at a position between the magnetic head and the mount member.

The movement mechanism includes a movement member movably disposed on the side surface of the body unit so that it is moved between first position at which the head supporting mechanism is driven at the time of recording with respect to the magneto-optical disc to move the magnetic head to the recording position and second position at which the head supporting mechanism is driven at the time of reproduction of the magneto-optical disc to move the magnetic head to the non-recording position.

摘要： A magnetic head vertical movement device for a magnetic-optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus for use with a disk cartridge, within which a magneto-optical disc is accommodated. The device includes a vertical movement drive mechanism for a magnetic head. The vertical movement drive mechanism carries out the vertical movement of the head between a first position where the magnetic head is caused to carry out the recording of information signals when the holder is located at a falling position, a second position above the first position, at which the head is located when the recording and/or reproduction unit is in a non-recording state, and a third position above the second position, at which the magnetic head is located when the holder is located at a rising position. The device avoids contact between the disk cartridge and the magnetic head at the time of insertion and withdrawal of the disk cartridge. The device also reduces the movement quantity of the magnetic head within a range between the position where recording is carried out and the position where the recording and/or reproducing apparatus is in the non-recording state in order to realize a magneto-optical recording and/or reproducing apparatus with a thin structure.

摘要： A cassette tape player for use with a tape housed in a cassette for recording and/or reproducing the tape. The cassette is generally provided with two capstan insert holes, two guide holes formed between the two capstan insert holes, two pinch roller insert openings respectively contiguous to the two capstan insert holes, two openings respectively contiguous to the two guide holes, and a magnetic head insert opening formed between the two openings. The cassette tape player includes a reversibly rotatable capstan adapted to be inserted into one of the two guide holes; a pinch roller adapted to be inserted through one of the two openings corresponding to the guide hole into which the capstan is to be inserted; a first magnetic head for use in normal running of the tape adapted to be inserted through one of the pinch roller insert openings so that the first magnetic head is located on a supply reel side upstream of the capstan in the normal running; and a second magnetic head for use in reverse running of the tape adapted to be inserted through the magnetic head insert opening so that the second magnetic head is located on a supply reel side upstream of the capstan in the reverse running. Thus, the magnetic head to be used in the recording or reproducing operation is located always on the supply reel side upstream of the capstan.
