摘要： A recording/reproducing apparatus includes a cartridge holder which is rotatably provided on a chassis, into which a disc cartridge enclosing a magneto-optical disc is inserted, and which holds the inserted disc cartridge, an optical pickup that irradiates laser light onto the magneto-optical disc, a magnetic head that is provided on the upper surface side of the cartridge holder facing the optical pickup and that is moved between a lowered position close to the optical disc and a raised position away from the magneto-optical disc, at least one first sliding member that is movably provided on the cartridge holder, a head raising/lowering mechanism that moves the magnetic head between the upper position and the lower position by moving the first sliding member, and a driving mechanism that is disposed on a lower surface side of the chassis, engages the sliding member, and moves the first sliding member.

摘要： A magnetic head (4) and a magnetic head holding member (41) are cantilevered by a joint member (40). The magnetic head (4) includes a head main body (5) attached to a free end and a supporting member (6) having a supporting member elastic portion (10). The magnetic head holding member (41) has an elastic spring portion (44) near the joint member (40) and is opposed to an information recording medium (1) with the supporting member (6) interposed therebetween. The magnetic head holding member (41) includes position holding portions (48) protruding toward the information recording medium. When the magnetic head (4) is in a first position where the head main body (5) is located close to or in contact with the information recording medium (1) so as to perform recording or reproducing, the position holding portions (48) contact a cartridge holder (49). This makes it possible to reduce the thickness of a magnetic head device and a magneto-optical recording/reproducing apparatus. Further, due to the reduction of the number of components, the price of a magneto-optical recording/reproducing apparatus can be lowered further.

摘要： A disc drive apparatus is composed of a disc carrying mechanism, a turntable (1), a pickup unit (2), a pickup transport mechanism, a reversible motor (7), a first transmission system (8A), a second transmission system (8B), and a transmission route changing mechanism. The pickup transport mechanism is further composed of a screw shaft (5) and a driven body (6) linking to the screw shaft (5) and the pickup unit (2). The driven body (6) moves reciprocally and linearly in a transport direction of the pickup unit (2) by reversible rotation of the reversible motor (7), and moves with being accompanied by the pickup unit (2) within a movable range (L) of the pickup unit (2), and moves independently out of the movable range (L). The transmission route changing mechanism conducts to change the transmission route linked to the reversible motor (7) from the first transmission system (8A) over to the second transmission system (8B) when the driven body (6) is moved independently out of the movable range (L) while the pickup unit (2) is stopped at one end of the movable range (L).

The biasing magnet is provided with a first contact portion on a side closer to a rotational axis of the magneto-optical disc and a second contact portion on a side farther from the rotational axis of the magneto-optical disc. When the cartridge holder is located at a loading position, at which data recording/reproducing of the magneto-optical disc is to be performed, the first and second contact portions contact the cartridge holder and the disc cartridge, respectively, to locate the biasing magnet at an operable position.

摘要： A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a magneto optical recording medium housed within a disc cartridge includes a casing, a recording and/or reproducing unit, a transporting unit and a driving unit. The casing includes an opening for introducing and ejecting the disc cartridge. The recording and/or reproducing unit includes a magnetic head for applying a perpendicular magnetic field on the magneto-optical recording medium and is housed within the casing. The transporting unit loads the disc cartridge inserted via the opening on the recording and/or reproducing unit. The transporting unit includes a holding section for holding the inserted disc cartridge and a pair of cam members for moving the holding section in the horizontal direction in the casing and in the vertical direction in the casing in continuation to the movement in the horizontal direction. The driving unit causes the cam members to be moved in the horizontal direction in the casing. The cam members are moved in a first direction as a result of insertion of the disc cartridge and set the driving unit into operating states as a result of insertion of the disc cartridge. The cam members cause the holding section to be moved in the horizontal direction by a movement of the cam members in a second horizontal direction consecutive to the movement in the first horizontal direction by the driving unit. The cam members cause the holding section to be loaded on the recording and/or reproducing unit by a movement of the cam members in a third horizontal direction consecutive to the movement in the second horizontal direction by the driving unit.
