摘要: An engine starter for an internal combustion engine having an engine ring gear, comprising a pinion gear (8) axially slidable on the rotary shaft (3) between an actuated position in which the pinion gear (8) engages the engine ring gear through the housing opening (6) and an inactuated position in which the pinion disengages from the ring gear. The starter conventionally also comprises a unidirectional clutch (14) for unidirectionally transmitting a rotation of the rotary shaft (3) to the pinion gear (8), and a solenoid switch (18) for energizing the motor (2) and driving the pinion (8) between the actuated and the inactuated positions. A first dust seal ring (22) having a forwardly extending lip (24) between the rotary shaft (3) and the pinion (8) seals therebetween against ingress of any foreign matter. To receive the seal ring (22), the pinion (8) may have an annular cavity (25) or groove so that the lip's inner edge slidably contacts the rotary shaft (3). A second dust seal ring (27) may be disposed between the housing (1) and a cylindrical outer surface of the pinion gear (8) or a unidirectional clutch (14). A third dust seal ring (30) may also be disposed at the front end of the rotary shaft (3) for protecting a bearing surface from dust.

摘要: In a starter having a planet gear speed reducer in which the front frame is secured to the end face of the motor with penetrating bolts, a cylindrical packing with ears is mounted on an internal gear with the penetrating bolts inserted into the ears so that, when the penetrating bolts are tightened, the ears of the packing are inscribed in the front frame, while sealingly holding the penetrating bolts, and the packing is compressed between the end face of the motor and the flange of the internal gear, thus eliminating the difficulty that water flows down the penetrating bolts into the motor.

摘要: A permanent magnet type electric motor has stoppers for restricting axial movement of field magnetic poles each composed of a permanent magnet and an auxiliary pole 13 in a cylindrical yoke thereof. The stoppers may be protrusions 17 arranged in the yoke or may be a ring member 21 resiliently fitted in the yoke. The auxiliary poles 15 are welded to an inner wall of the yoke 11 and the magnets 14 may be bonded thereto by a suitable adhesive so that enough space to receive a through-bolt is provided between adjacent ones of the field magnetic poles.

摘要: A coaxial engine starter comprises an electric motor including a yoke, an armature and a hollow armature shaft, an output shaft arranged coaxially with the armature shaft, a planet reduction gear mechanism disposed between the armature shaft and the output shaft for reducing a rotational speed of the armature shaft and rotating the output shaft at a reduced rotational speed, an electromagnetic switch having a plunger ganged with a rod for selectively coupling the output shaft to the planet reduction gear mechanism, a front bracket including an internal gear of the planet reduction gear mechanism and a bearing receiving a radial load and bolt means for securing the front bracket, the electromagnetic switch and the yoke of the motor to an engine bracket, all together. The bolt means pass axially inside said yoke and outside said internal gear and a resilient member is disposed between the front bracket and the engine bracket to absorb undesired vibration and/or shock on the engine side and to provide a higher freedom of engine layout.

摘要: An engine starter protecting device which prevents engagement of the starter's pinion with the ring gear of the engine, even when the engine is rotating. Sensors detect when the gear shift lever is in the neutral position, when the frequency of the ignition pulses for the engine is above a predetermined value, when the vacuum pressure of the intake air to the engine is at or below a predetermined value, when the vacuum pressure of the intake air to the engine is at or below a predetermined value, and when the output voltage from the alternator of the invention exceeds a predetermined voltage. The electromagnetic switch which controls the starter motor is prevented from operating unless the outputs from the detectors are in predetermined states.
