摘要： There is disclosed a solid semiconductor element which very efficiently detects information about a liquid and bidirectionally exchanges the information with the outside. The solid semiconductor element is disposed in a liquid container, and includes at least energy converting unit, information acquiring unit, and information communicating unit. The energy converting unit converts an electromotive force from the outside to a power, and operates the information acquiring unit and information communicating unit. The information acquiring unit acquires the information about the liquid in which the solid semiconductor element is disposed from the liquid, and the information communicating unit transmits the information acquired by the information acquiring unit to the outside.

摘要： An element substrate capable of obtaining a high-quality printed image for a long period. The element substrate has a plurality of heaters, driving elements each of which is provided in correspondence with each of the plurality of heaters to selectively drive the plurality of heaters, an input terminal to receive a driving mode selection signal, and a block selection circuit which time-divisionally drives, in blocks of different timings, heaters in each of a plurality of groups each including a predetermined number of heaters and driving elements. The element substrate includes a logic circuit which time-divisionally drives the heaters in the group when the selection signal input from the input terminal is a signal for selecting a first driving mode, and simultaneously drives all heaters in the group when the selection signal is a signal for selecting a second driving mode.

摘要： An ink jet recording head substrate is provided with: an array of a plurality of energy generating bodies for generating energy utilized to discharge ink; and an ink supply port arranged along the array to supply ink to the plurality of energy generating bodies, the array and the ink supply port each extending in a longitudinal direction of the ink jet recording head substrate, the ink jet recording head substrate comprising: a first terminal electrically connected with the plurality of energy generating bodies, the first terminal being arranged along beside a first side of the ink jet recording head substrate, the first side extending in a cross direction intersecting the longitudinal direction; and a second terminal electrically connected with the plurality of energy generating bodies, the second terminal being arranged beside a second side of the ink jet recording head substrate, the second side extending in the longitudinal direction, so as to be arranged in an area between the first side and a phantom line that passes through a longitudinal end of the ink supply port closer to the first side and extends in the cross direction.

摘要： This invention relates to an element substrate capable of confirming an electrical connection status before a printhead malfunctions. The element substrate is a substrate for a printhead, which is detachable from a printing apparatus and includes a plurality of printing elements, a logical circuit for controlling the printing elements, and a voltage application terminal for applying a driving voltage to drive the printing elements. The logical circuit is driven at a voltage lower than the driving voltage. The element substrate includes a connection status output circuit which outputs a signal reflecting the electrical connection status between the printhead and the printing apparatus on the basis of the driving voltage.

摘要： This invention relates to a printhead element substrate having a plurality of electrothermal transducers and a plurality of switching elements which drive the plurality of electrothermal transducers. The element substrate has a level converter which is shared by adjacent electrothermal transducers and steps up an input driving signal, and a switch circuit which supplies the driving signal output from the level converter to one of the adjacent electrothermal transducers. The switch circuit switches the supply destination of the driving signal in accordance with an external input selection signal.
