The laminate structure of the present invention contains a number of metal nanopillars and plural insulating layers, wherein the lengths of the metal nanopillars are approximately equivalent, each of the plural insulating layers is penetrated by the metal nanopillars, and the plural insulating layers are laminated to each other. The magnetic recording medium of the present invention contains the laminate structure on the substrate, and the metal nanopillars formed of a magnetic material extend to a direction approximately perpendicular to the surface of the substrate.
