    摘要: A pinch detection system and method controls the speed of a motor moving an object by first calculating the actual motor force and then comparing the actual motor force with a reference force value in a reference field. A pinch condition is indicated if the difference between the actual force and the reference force exceeds a selected pinch threshold. The difference is also used to update the reference field, the pinch threshold and the desired speed of the motor so that the reference field will eventually reflect the actual force profile of the object. The updated pinch threshold is also used to control the motor speed so that the pinching force remains constant regardless of the pinch threshold value.

A disclosed example is well suited for making urea concentration level determinations.

The method further includes relieving excess negative pressure in the headspace and relieving excess positive pressure in the headspace by fluid flow in different directions along the same flow path that includes the opening in the diaphragm.

    摘要: A coupler acts as an interface between a torque element of a torque sensor and a shaft receiving an applied torque. A portion of the shaft is allowed to twist freely inside the element, and the coupler transfers a portion of the torsion forces in the shaft to the element. The element deforms and generates a magnetic field or other torque response corresponding to the applied torque in the shaft. The applied torque can then be determined based on a relationship between the torque in the shaft and the torque in the element. Reducing the torsion forces applied to the element allows the element to measure higher applied torques without permanently deforming.

    摘要: An improved system for detecting the presence of an object in the path of a liftgate relies upon the sensor/transmitters that are used for collision avoidance systems to detect the presence of an object rearwardly of a vehicle moving in a reverse direction. Known sensors are provided to look for the presence of an object when the vehicle is being moved in a reverse direction. The sensors are now also actuated when the liftgate is being moved to its closed position. Should an object be detected, further movement of the liftgate is stopped. The present invention thus detects the presence of an object in the path of a liftgate prior to any contact. Further, the invention combines two prior control modules into a single control module.

    摘要: A rotation sensor that is particularly useful to provide a control with an indication of shaft position. The sensor utilizes a magnetic connection between a cam follower and a transducer. The magnetic connection eliminates problems in the prior art such as degradation due to wear and corrosion. In particular, a rotating shaft carries a cam. The cam drives a cam follower. As the cam follower moves, a magnet moves. The transducer can sense movement of this magnet. In preferred embodiments, the cam follower is driven to pivot and the magnet is mounted on the pivot point of the cam follower. The present invention is useful in many distinct control applications such as motorcycle throttle handles, accelerator pedals, brake pedals, and detecting shaft position for valve timing.
