    摘要： The fracture-free paving block (1) comprises a cement block substrate (1-1) and a top solid layer (1-2), and is characterized in that the top layer is selected from a cured cement mortar layer and a tile-like layer firmly bonded to the substrate with cement mortar; the top layer is bonded to the block substrate with lateral margins (2) of 1 to 8 mm wide in horizontal distance (1.sub.5) from the peripheral edges of the substrate: and the vertical distance (1.sub.6) from the surface of the top layer to the peripheral edge of the substrate is 5 to 50 mm. The method for producing the paving block (1) having a tile-like top layer comprises applying adhesive cement mortar between the back of the top layer (1-2) and the upper surface of the substrate (1-1); placing the top layer on the substrate with the above-mentioned margins (2) of the substrate surface: and applying vibration and/or pressurization between the top layer and the substrate.

A hardenable medium is injected between the jacket and the concrete article and generates a sufficient pressure so as to outwardly bulge the jacket, drawing the end walls together thereby compressing the gaskets.

    摘要： An apparatus for adjusting the tolerances regarding the shape and dimensions of an elongated vibrated concrete article made in a mold after removing the article from the mold, making it possible to achieve close tolerances even when using a rather wet concrete composition optimized as regards strength. According to the invention, the article, before hardening, is brought into engagement with one long side of a straight-edge rule for being shaped thereby, the article is pressed on its end surfaces to a predetermined length, and the cross-sectional shape of the article is adjusted to agree with the intended cross-sectional shape while keeping the article in engagement with the rule and pressing it on the end surfaces.

    摘要： A method of making a closed-tread staircase, and of making steps for such a staircase. The tread and riser of each step are each made from a rebated, grooved slab; the rebates on tread and riser are mated to form a joint, which is secured by a joining strip of `V`-shaped cross-section formed with flanges which are forced into the slab grooves. Steps are joined together in the same manner, and a staircase formed by supporting a series of steps upon two or more stair carriages, each carriage comprising a stringer with a series of spaced cleats secured to one side. Each cleat provides a horizontal tread-supporting portion and a vertical riser-supporting portion. Each stair carriage may be made using apparatus which provides means for supporting and indexing a stringer and supporting each cleat at a predetermined angle while cleat and stringer are secured together.
