    摘要: A test fixture is provided for testing the resistance associated with contamination material on the surface of electrical contacts mounted to a printed circuit board. A probe used to engage the contacts consists of first and second conductive probe segments which form a sandwich about a layer of insulating material. A current source provides a constant alternating current which is applied across the first and second probe segments. Circuitry is provided for amplifying the alternating current voltage developed across the first and second probe segments in response to the constant current. Circuitry is provided for rectifying the amplified alternating current voltage to provide a direct current voltage which is proportional to the measured resistance of the contact engaged by the probe. Data corresponding to the bulk and contact resistance associated with the clean contact is stored in memory of a computer. The bulk resistance represented by the stored data is subtracted from the measured resistance represented by the DC voltage of the contact under test in order to determine the contamination resistance.

A predetermined bias force is exerted by the probe along its axis while engaging the contact to be tested.

One of the faces of the support member includes a first opening providing an access to a first compartment. The soil electrode assembly also includes a substantially flat insulating member having two principal opposite faces. The insulating member is mounted in the first compartment. One of the faces of the insulating member includes a second opening providing an access to a second compartment. An electrode member is mounted in the second compartment.

    摘要: A probe assembly for measuring resistivity of a soil is connected to a measuring apparatus capable of generating a constant DC current signal into two electric leads. The probe assembly includes a short circuit connector; double-pole double-throw switch having two fixed contacts, and two switched contacts alternatively connectable to the electric leads or to the short circuit connector, respectively; and two electrodes connected to the fixed contacts respectively. Each of the electrodes has a portion of its surface forming a conductive surface. The conductive surfaces are substantially opposite to each other when the electrodes are put into the soil. In a stand-by position, the switched contacts are connected to the short circuit connector. In an operating position for measurement, the switched contacts are connected to the electrical leads, whereby when a measurement is performed, the switched contacts are switched from the stand-by position to the operating position so that the DC current signal can be injected into the electrodes and produce a voltage between the electrical leads that is indicative of the resistivity of the soil between said electrodes.

    摘要: An apparatus for testing the pipe-to-soil potential of a buried pipeline having a plurality of rectifiers electrically connected to it in spaced-apart intervals for applying an electrical potential to the pipe includes a plurality of interrupter units electrically connected to the rectifiers for turning them on and off at intervals. A clock reference unit is electrically connectable to each of the interrupters for synchronizing them for turning all of the rectifiers on and off in unison. A portable sensing device produces signals indicative of the pipe-to-soil potential of the pipe and directs these signals to a demultiplexer unit which is also synchronized with the clock reference unit for separating the signals corresponding to the ON and OFF potentials which are then separately recorded.The method of the invention thus includes alternately turning each rectifier on and off, synchronizing the turning on and off of all of the rectifiers, producing signals indicative of the pipe-to-soil potential of the pipe at various positions therealong and separating the signals indicative of the ON and OFF potentials in synchronization with the rectifiers so that the ON and OFF potentials may be separately recorded.
