    摘要: The present invention generally provides a system for metal corrosion protection, including a metallic object to be protected, connectable to an electron source as cathode, an electrically isolating coating disposed on at least a portion of the metallic object, an electrically conductive blanket anode applied on at least a portion of the electrically isolating coating; an electrode electrically connected to the blanket anode and connectable to the electron source. The present invention further proposes a kit for providing corrosion protection to a substrate and method thereof.

    摘要: An enhanced anode includes a modulated body which improves anode current output efficiency by maximizing the surface area to increase surface area to weight ratio. A toroidally modulated embodiment of the enhanced anode enlarges surface area by 48 percent increasing current output efficiency by 48 percent, only increases weight by three percent, and improves surface/weight ratio 44 percent, compared to know cylindrical anodes. The enhanced anode is preferably made from cast iron or other suitable materials (e.g. magnesium, zinc, aluminum) as well, and the design of the improved anode is applicable to galvanic cast anodes in general. The enhanced anode is suitable for molding and casting and does not increase production costs.

    摘要: Galvanic anodes and barrier corrosion control for metal pipelines, tanks, and equipment under thermal insulation includes the use of pure aluminum and aluminum alloys in fresh water at high temperatures to protect steel elements in hot water without sufficient chlorides. Sacrificial aluminum and sacrificial zinc-aluminum powders in a mixed primer provide long-term, effective corrosion control of steel under thermal insulation can be achieved in all water temperature ranges regardless of the presence of sufficient chlorides. At temperatures below 75° C., the zinc particles in the primer act to protect the substrate steel. At temperatures above 75° C., the aluminum particles in the primer, and galvanic aluminum tape protect the substrate steel in chloride free neutral pH water and also reduce the consumption of zinc particles in the primer. When the electrolyte water for CUI is sufficiently contaminated with chlorides, the aluminum particles in the primer and the galvanic aluminum become active.

    摘要: Provided is a system and method for preventing the chemical redox reaction, and thereby, corrosion between potable water and copper piping systems, which causes pinhole leaks in the copper piping systems. A sacrificial anode, made of a material, such as a metal or metal alloy less noble than copper, e.g., iron, zinc, aluminum, magnesium, titanium, and/or alloys thereof, is electrically attached to the potable water copper piping system. Alternatively an active cathodic corrosion prevention system may be used. The active cathodic corrosion protection system is composed of an independent source of DC power, a voltage controller and a non-sacrificial grounding anode. The negative terminal of the voltage controller is connected to the potable water copper piping system. The system is maintained at a voltage and/or potential above the reduction potential of copper.

    摘要: A cathodic protection device enclosing a reference cell and a conductive media and having two coupon assemblies mounted, facing opposing direction, on an exterior surface. The coupon assemblies each have a disc-shaped coupon seated in a coupon jacket and are electrically coupled to a wire. The coupon jacket defines a pocket in a first surface and a groove in a second, opposing surface thereof. The disc-shaped coupon is seated in the pocket and the wire is seated in the groove with the electrical junction therebetween aligned with an aperture connecting the pocket to the groove. A sealing material is used to form a watertight seal between the disc-shaped coupon and the pocket and fills the groove. The device includes a hydrophilic porous member having a first surface in communication with the conductive media and a second surface in communication with an external environment.

    摘要: A cathodic protection system is provided for a subterranean well casing having an enclosed upper section of the well casing being substantially shielded by a cellar from an impressed-current cathodic protection circuit passing through earth media. The impressed-current cathodic protection circuit is provided to protect an unenclosed lower section of the well casing. To protect the enclosed upper section of the well casing, a supplemental cathodic protection circuit is provided. The supplemental cathodic protection circuit is a galvanic anode cathodic protection circuit comprising the enclosed upper section of the well casing and one or more bracelet galvanic anodes being circumferentially mounted to the enclosed upper section. The enclosed upper section of the well casing and the one or more bracelet galvanic anodes are substantially surrounded by a cellar backfill, and the galvanic anode cathodic protection circuit is equally effective throughout a broad range of non-homogeneity within the cellar backfill.
