    摘要: A sensor device detects an object, in particular for optically detecting smoke particles. The sensor device contains a transmitting device for emitting transmit radiation, a receiving device for receiving receive radiation having scattering radiation that is generated by an at least partial scattering of the transmit radiation by the object, and for outputting a measurement signal indicative of the receive radiation, a signal modification device for modifying the measurement signal and for outputting a modified measurement signal, a level of the modified measurement signal increasing after the transmitting device has been switched on, and a calibration device for monitoring the modified measurement signal. The calibration device is embodied such that a reaching of a predefined signal level for the modified measurement signal can be detected and that a time interval between the switching on of the transmitting device and the reaching of the predefined signal level can be determined.

    摘要: An optical smoke detector for detecting particulates in an air sample. The detector includes a detection chamber defining an enclosure for the air sample. At least one opening is in fluid communication with the detection chamber whereby the air sample can be introduced and discharged from the detection chamber. A cleaning port defines a passageway to the detection chamber from a position external to the smoke detector and a resilient valve seals the cleaning port with a substantially air-tight seal. The valve member is accessible from a position external to the smoke detector. The valve member is openable, permitting passage of air through the cleaning port into the discharge chamber, by engaging the valve member with a nozzle, such as an air nozzle mounted on a canister of pressurized air.

    摘要: An apparatus and a method can be used to pre-process an output signal from an ambient condition sensor. The preprocessing removes noise pulses which are not correlated with an ambient condition being sensed. Preprocessing can be carried out by comparing the present output value to a prior output value and selecting a minimum value there between. The apparatus and method can incorporate storage for two prior values and the present output value can be compared to two prior values and a minimum or a maximum of the three values selected. Additional processing can be carried out by comparing the present output value to a nominal expected clear air output value. If the present value exceeds the nominal expected output value, a minimum is selected among the present output value and one or more prior values. If the present output value is less than the nominally expected value, a maximum is selected from among the present output value and one or more prior output values.
