A zoom lens is mounted inside the camera, with the picture-taking beam path of the zoom lens located essentially parallel to the film plane and hence transverse to the direction of picture taking. The movable lens elements of the zoom lens are also movable parallel to the film plane.

    摘要： A folded optical system for scanning an object and projecting its image in four modes of operation. In one mode, a stationary object is scanned by moving mirrors and its conjugate image projected at unity magnification onto a moving image surface. In a second mode, conjugate distances are varied to project an image at other than unity magnification. In a third mode, the optical system remains stationary and the object is moved relative to it to enable imaging of objects larger than the scan travel of the optics. In a fourth mode, the optics again remain stationary and an add-reflector is introduced to create a reflection cavity to increase the object conjugate for minified imaging of large moving objects. Mirrors and lens are movable to effect magnification changes.

    摘要： A varifocal objective has an axially shiftable positive front component, an axially shiftable negative intermediate component, and a fixed positive rear component or basic lens group. The latter component consists of five closely spaced lens members, all but the second of them singlets and all but the third of them positively refracting. The intermediate component is separated from the rear component by a diaphragm space which in a position of close approach of these components, corresponding to maximum focal length, is still substantially greater than any air space between the lens members of the rear component. With a varifocal ratio close to 3:1, the distance between the front and rear components is the same in the positions of maximum and minimum focal lengths.

    摘要： A multiple purpose optical device that may be selectively and removably attached to engageable means on either the forward portion of a camera housing containing shutter means and a light sensitive film or engageable means on the forward portion of a projector containing a light source and a holder for said film after the film has been exposed and developed. The device when mounted on a camera as above described laterally compresses the light image to which the film is exposed and increases the field of said camera as a result thereof. The device when mounted on said projector laterally expands the developed image on the film as said developed image is reproduced, with the compression and expansion being to such a degree as to nullify one another and provide a non-distorted and natural reproduction of said developed image on a projection receiving surface.

The third group consists of a biconcave lens both surfaces of which have the same radius of curvature, and the fourth group consists of a biconvex lens both surfaces of which have the same radius of curvature. In combination of these third and fourth groups with the first and second groups, the spherical aberration as well as astigmatism of the lens system may be limited within a very small range and a flat image is obtained.
