    摘要: Provided are a data processing method and a data processor for ink jet printing, which are capable of achieving uniform and high-quality images while stabilizing density and color development in each of pixels. To this end, a mask pattern for setting permission and non-permission to print dots in each area is arranged non-periodically by using an integral multiple of m×n areas as one unit. The m×n areas allow one pixel to be expressed in half-tone. Thereby, density in the pixel is stable since a plurality of dots printed in the same pixel are printed approximately in the same event. Moreover, since each of the units (clusters) is non-periodically arranged, a uniform image can be obtained.

    摘要: Methods are provided for creating a fluorescent watermark within an image on a substrate, such as paper. The method involves creating a halftone image using two different halftone strategies. The halftone method is combined with a binary watermark mask to form two color patterns (e.g., one in a background region of the image and one in a watermark region of the image) and two successive-filling halftone algorithms, such that the ink droplets deposited by one color pattern cover more of the substrate than the ink droplets deposited by the other color pattern, with the two color patterns having approximately the same reflectance under normal light. However, under UV illumination, a visible difference (e.g., the watermark) is seen in the two patterns.

    摘要: What is disclosed is a system and method for improving vector half-toning in dot-on-dot printing devices. The method utilizes minimum spatial luminance variation to achieve a smooth color half-toning pattern transition. Red (M+Y), blue (C+M), and green (C+Y) dots in addition to CMY dots are utilized to achieve darker colors without black ink. As gray values to be printed get darker, green, red and blue pixels get introduced. Black is not introduced until the gray values are darker by approximately 30%. Given a fixed half-toning step, the CMY to CMYKRGB conversion is controlled. The primary CMY color densities are used as high as possible before secondary color dots are used. With the maximum possible primary CMY color densities achieved, the secondary color densities are used as high as possible before using any black dots. This minimizes black dot density generation. Secondary color densities are minimized by maximizing primary color densities.

    摘要: Methods for choosing and combining colors from a color palette to render an image color tone are disclosed. A set of up to four palette colors are chosen and the weighted factors for combining the chosen palette to render the image color are determined. The weighted factors of the chosen palette colors are ordered according to an ordering criterion or criteria. The color output of a display pixel is the chosen palette color associated with the interval in which the threshold value falls. Color data compression may also be achieved by eliminating at least one color from the set of chosen palette colors used to render an image color that fails to exceed a specified threshold value. Also disclosed are methods for designing uniform and non-uniform color palettes.
