    摘要: A maintenance and repair station for the maintenance and repair of charging cars of coke oven batteries comprises an elevator which has a cage with a trackway which forms a portion of the roof trackway over which the charging car operates and which may be shifted to a different elevation, for example, downwardly to position another trackway portion identical in length with the first in a position in which it forms a portion of the trackway over the coke oven battery. In this matter a charging car may be loaded onto the elevator and lowered to a repair station or raised to a different repair station while another track may be orientated in a place taken by the trackway portion of the elevator which also forms a portion of the trackway over the coke oven roof. Once the car has been removed, for example, downwardly into another station it may be maintained or repaired at such station while the trackway at the other level of the elevator is aligned with the charging car trackway on the roof so that other cars may be passed over the roof without interference.

    摘要: A method of removing ash components from coals, particularly high-ash content coals, comprises grinding the coal into ground particles and suspending the ground coals in an aqueous alkali carbonate solution. The solution is maintained in a reactor for 45 to 120 minutes at a temperature range of from 250.degree. to 280.degree. C and under a pressure of from 50 to 80 atm in order to cause the CO.sub.2 to be set free by dissociation. The CO.sub.2 is discharged from the reactor by directing an inert gas stream through the reactor and discharging the CO.sub.2 with the gas stream. The suspension is stirred and agitated at elevated temperatures and increased pressures in order to fuse the ashes. The aqueous solution containing the dissolved ash components is then separated from the coal. The removed carbon dioxide is introduced into a solution for reforming the alkali carbonate in order to cause the contents of the solution to become insoluble and separated and the alkali solution to become regenerated. The regenerated solution is then used to continue the operation by forming a further aqueous alkali carbonate solution and ground coal suspension.

    摘要: A wharf for receiving glowing coke, comprises an inclined receiving ramp which has a plurality of non-conducting areas and conductive plates interposed in the conductive areas at spaced locations. An electrical circuit control means is connected to each of the plates and provides a potential on the plates which will vary in accordance with the presence of coke over the plates. The electrical circuit also includes a control for effecting a control pulse in accordance with the potential sensed for carrying out a subsequent operation, such as the positioning or withdrawal of a rake element at the bottom of the wharf which supports the coke. With the method, by subjecting the conductive plates to an electrical potential, and by sensing the change in the potential, it is possible to regulate the amount of covering of the coke on the wharf.

    摘要: A method of producing form coke that is coke having pieces of substantially identical form using a heated shaft furnace comprises mixing fine coke with a caking coal and pressing the mixture at temperatures at which the mixture is plastic in order to form briquettes. The briquettes are permitted to harden and degasify and thereafter they are exposed to a high temperature after hardening for example to a temperature of from 400.degree. to 900.degree. C from 60 to 120 minutes. Thereafter the briquettes are cooled. A first mixing substance is prepared by permitting a fine coal to fall in a non-compressed stream in the shaft furnace while heat is transferred thereto substantially by radiation.

The apparatus includes a gas cooler housing having the various first, second and third heat exchangers therein, and with a refrigerating machine connected in a circuit for supplying a higher temperature transfer medium to the first heat exchanger and a coolant medium below the temperature of the cooling water to the third heat exchanger.

    摘要: An apparatus for charging coke ovens with coal through filling openings in the coke oven roof comprises a hopper support which advantageously comprises a car undercarriage which is movable into position over an associated filling opening. At least one charging hopper is supported on the support for upward and downward movement and it has a lower end with a discharge connection which is engageable into the filling opening of the coke oven. The support carries a guide for the upward and downward movement of the hopper which is connected to a drive motor in the form of a fluid pressure operated piston and cylinder combination. In one embodiment a compression spring supports the hopper in a fully loaded position and the drive motor which is connected to the hopper must overcome a slight compression force of the spring to move the hopper downwardly to engage the discharge connection into the coke oven opening. In another embodiment the spring pressure does not become effective until a drive connection engages onto a compression spring during the course of its movement with the hopper in a downward direction to further compress the spring toward the end of the downward movement. The construction also includes a separate drive motor for opening and closing a valve in the discharge connection for regulating the discharge of the coke from the hopper into the oven.
