Abstract: A dynamic receiver is included in parallel to an expander of a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system. The dynamic receiver allows control of the refrigerant charge of the HVACR system to respond to different operating conditions. The dynamic receiver can be filled or emptied in response to the subcooling observed in the HVACR system compared to desired subcooling for various operating modes. The HVACR system can include a line directly conveying working fluid from compressor discharge to the dynamic receiver to allow emptying of the dynamic receiver to be assisted by injection of the compressor discharge.

Abstract: A ventilation system for a building in some cases includes a main HVAC blower for moving temperature-conditioned air through the building plus a smaller ventilation blower for providing fresh air. A controller regulates the ventilation blower's speed to provide a target ventilation flow rate regardless of changes in the pressure differential between the indoor and outdoor air. To ensure that the target rate is appropriate for a particular building, the target flow rate is determined based on a ventilation setting that reflects a specified number of bedrooms and a specified amount of floor space of the building.

The one or more containers deliver one or more refrigerant components into the container to convert the recovered refrigerant.

Abstract: There is disclosed a refrigeration apparatus comprising a refrigerant circuit, the refrigerant circuit comprising a compressor comprising a compressor fan and a motor to drive the compressor fan; a condensing device disposed downstream of the compressor, the condensing device comprising a condenser and a sub-cooler; an expansion valve disposed downstream of the condensing device; an evaporator disposed between the expansion valve and the compressor; and a main refrigerant line fluidically connecting, in a loop in series: the compressor, condensing device, expansion valve and evaporator. A motor cooling line comprising a motor cooling valve fluidically connects the sub-cooler to the motor to tap refrigerant from the main refrigerant line to cool the motor and is further connected to the main refrigerant line at a return point which is upstream of the compressor fan to return refrigerant to the main refrigerant line at the compressor fan. A bypass line fluidically connects an outlet of the condenser to the expansion valve to bypass the sub-cooler, wherein the bypass line comprises a bypass valve to selectively permit refrigerant in the main refrigerant line to bypass the sub-cooler.

Also disclosed is a simplified variable speed motor drive system which eliminates the need for a filter for removing high frequency harmonics.
