    Abstract: A childhood development system may capture audio and video in a home environment in which a child resides. The captured audio and the captured video may be filtered to remove audio and video corresponding to persons other than the child. Based upon information from the filtered video and the filtered audio, multiple scores can be calculated for the child using multiple trained machine-learning models. The scores can be compared with various stored activity score bundles. An indication of one or more compatible activities mapped to the activity score bundles that best match the child's scores is output.

    Abstract: A technique is directed to methods and systems for outputting alerts on user interfaces. In some implementations, an alert system can identify devices connected to the alert interface and determine the user interface capabilities (e.g., audio, visual, or vibration) of each device. Upon receiving an alert of an emergency event, the alert system can determine the location of the user within a structure and select a device(s) nearby the user to transmit or display the notification of the emergency event to the user. The selected device can identify the emergency event and output the alert based upon the visual audible, or vibration user interface capabilities of the selected device.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable media for audio/video recognition and adaptive packet transmission are disclosed. A first content item that includes audio content and video content may be received and processed to detect a set of one or more video characteristics and/or a set of one or more audio characteristics that may be analyzed to identify the first content item as corresponding to a service provider system. The first content item may be transferred for display with an endpoint media device. At least one electronic signal may be received and processed, the at least one electronic signal indicative of execution of at least one operation of a set of one or more operations relating to one or more images of the first content item consequent to the display of the first content with the endpoint media device.

    Abstract: Embodiments are related to faster provisioning of targeted advertisements at a set-top box (STB) via an Internet Protocol (IP) connection between the STB and a remote server. The disclosed IP-based advertisement distribution system enables targeted advertisements to be pulled from the remote server efficiently, causing the advertisements to be made available within a short time frame (e.g., less than one day from the time when the advertisements are available). The disclosed methods enables a STB to determine whether to retain existing targeted advertisements, discard them, or provision newly-available advertisements. The targeted advertisements can depend on various factors such as demographic information of an owner of the STB, lifestyle information of the owner of the STB, etc.

    Abstract: Commentary rating determination systems and methods determine a commentary rating for commentary about a subject media content event that has been generated by a community member. An exemplary embodiment receives video information acquired by a 360° video camera, identifies a physical object from the received video information, determines a physical attribute associated with the identified physical object, wherein the determined physical attribute describes a characteristic of the identified physical object, compares the determined physical attribute of the identified physical object with a plurality of predefined physical object attributes stored in a database, and in response to identifying one of the plurality of predefined physical object attributes that matches the determined physical attribute, associates the quality value of the identified one of the plurality of predefined physical object attributes with the identified physical object. Then, the commentary rating is determined for the commentary based on the associated quality value.

    Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure describe systems and methods for detecting and remediating compression artifacts in multimedia items. In example aspects, a machine learning model is trained on a dataset related to compression artifacts and non-compression artifacts. Input data may then be collected by a data collection module and provided to a pattern recognition module. The pattern recognition module may extract visual and audio features of the multimedia item and provide the extracted features to the trained machine learning model. The trained machine learning model may compare the extracted features to the model, and a confidence value may be generated. The confidence value may be compared to a confidence value threshold. If the confidence value is equal to or exceeds the confidence threshold, then the input data may be classified as containing at least one compression artifact. Remedial action may subsequently be applied (e.g., boosting the system with technical resources).

    Abstract: A technique is directed to methods and systems for drone flight path automation for site inspections. A user can operate a drone in a sequence around a site and capture data. The data is logged and used to generate an automated flight path, so that for future flights, the drone can fly an automated flight path along the same flight path sequence as the logged flight path and capture data of the site. For example, automated flight paths allow drones to capture data in the same way on each flight so inconsistencies in measured data of the site can be identified, since the flight paths are the same. In some implementations, the captured data is used to generate a three-dimensional (3D) interactive model of the site. The 3D interactive model can be used for acquiring certifications for the site from permitting authorities or inspectors.

A secondary media device may be communicatively connected to the primary media device and may be configured to: operate as a client with respect to the primary media device in the local network, receive the A/V content from the primary media device, and provide the A/V content to a second display. The primary media device and the secondary media device may use multiple subnets in the local network. The primary media device and/or the secondary media device may select a first subnet of the multiple subnets to use based at least in part on a type of content to communicate via the first subnet.
