Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for changing network interfaces in a multiaccess mobile terminal in a wireless communication system including a server for providing high-capacity data transmission service to a mobile terminal, and the terminal for receiving data from the server and supporting various network interfaces. Upon detecting handoff based on current air information received, an interface module reports a change in interface to a new air interface to an upper layer, and manages the mobile terminal such that traffic is transmitted to the new air interface. Upon receiving information on the new air interface from the interface module, a service module determines a bandwidth of the new air interface, generates a message based on the determined bandwidth, and transmits the generated message.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method support Machine to Machine (M2M) communication in a communication system. A method for providing an M2M service includes determining at least one of identifier (ID) information of an M2M device, ID information of an M2M Service Provider (MSP), and service type information of the M2M device to provide the M2M service. The method also includes determining a profile of the M2M device using the at least one information determined. The method further includes transmitting the profile of the M2M device to an Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) server.
Abstract:
An operation method of a terminal in a wireless access system is provided. The method includes, while keeping an idle state without confirming the existence or non-existence of downlink data, determining to transit into a wakeup state, performing signaling for the transition into the wakeup state, acquiring information on discarded downlink data transmission through the signaling, and receiving the downlink data using the information on the downlink data transmission.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for performing local routing in a mobile communication system. In accordance with the method, if a flow between a first Mobile Station (MS) and a second MS is a local routing candidate, an Access Serving Network GateWay (ASN-GW) receives an AAA request message including information indicating start of local routing from an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) server, and performs the local routing between the first MS and the second MS after transmitting to the AAA server an AAA response message including information indicating that the local routing will start in response to the AAA request message. The local routing is based on consent among entities involved in the local routing.
Abstract:
A method and a system for relocating an Access Service Network (ASN) of a Mobile Station (MS) in a communication system are provided. In the method, when an MS that operates in an idle mode moves from a first ASN to a second ASN, the MS transmits a ranging request message to a base station of the second ASN in order to update a location. The base station transmits a location update request message to an ASN-GateWay (GW) of the second ASN according to the ranging request message. When the location update request message is received, the ASN-GW transmits a relocation notify message including type information for location update to the first ASN. The first ASN transmits a relocation notify response message including paging information to the ASN-GW according to the relocation notify message.
Abstract:
In a communication system, second encryption information is generated using first encryption information when data to be transmitted is generated. The data is encrypted using the second encryption information and third encryption information. A signal including the encrypted data and the first encryption information is generated and transmitted.
Abstract:
A method and a system for providing a push service in a wireless communication system adopting an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) scheme or an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) scheme are provided. The method includes when receiving a message from another network or another messaging server, transmitting, at a messaging server, a push service request message to a push server; when a Mobile Station (MS) of which the push service is requested using the push service request message of the messaging server, operates in an awake mode, transmitting, at the push server, a first push deliver message comprising a message designated for the MS, to a Base Station (BS), and when receiving the first push deliver message, transmitting, at the BS, a second push deliver message based on a Media Access Control (MAC) layer comprising the message designated for the MS, to the MS.
Abstract:
An authentication system and method in a communication system are provided. The authentication system includes an authenticator for receiving from a first Foreign Agent (FA) a location change notification notifying that an Mobile Station (MS) has moved to the service area of the first FA, after the MS completes initial access to a second FA using an authentication scheme with an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) server in the service area of the second FA; and transmitting to the first FA a first key and a second key of the MS generated during the initial access of the MS in response to the location change notification.
Abstract:
An authentication method and system in a communication system are provided. An MS, a BS and an AAA server acquire a first MSK by a first EAP authentication for the MS in an EAP-in-EAP scheme. After the first EAP authentication, they acquire a second MSK by a second EAP authentication for the MS in the EAP-in-EAP scheme.
Abstract:
A method for providing Location Based Services (LBS) in a mobile communication system is provided. Upon receipt of a location trigger for requesting location information of a Mobile Station (MS) from a location client, a Location Server (LS) transmits an authentication request message for requesting an identifier (ID) of an anchor authenticator for the MS to an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting server (AAA). Upon receipt of the authentication request message, the AAA transmits an authentication response message including an ID of the anchor authenticator to the LS. Upon receipt of the authentication response message, the LS transmits a Location Controller Identifier (LCID) request message for requesting an LCID of a Location Controller (LC) for the MS to the anchor authenticator. Upon receipt of the LCID request message, the anchor authenticator transmits an LCID response message including an LCID of the serving LC to the LS. Upon receipt of the LCID response message, the LS transmits a location report request message for requesting a report on location information of the MS to the serving LC. Upon receipt of the location report request message, the serving LC transmits a location report response message including location information of the MS to the LS.
