    摘要： An apparatus and method for performing local routing in a mobile communication system. In accordance with the method, if a flow between a first Mobile Station (MS) and a second MS is a local routing candidate, an Access Serving Network GateWay (ASN-GW) receives an AAA request message including information indicating start of local routing from an Authorization, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) server, and performs the local routing between the first MS and the second MS after transmitting to the AAA server an AAA response message including information indicating that the local routing will start in response to the AAA request message. The local routing is based on consent among entities involved in the local routing.

    摘要： A method and an apparatus for providing a Local BreakOut (LBO) service in a wireless communication system are provided. In the method for providing an LBO service in a wireless communication system, after an access authentication procedure between an authentication server and a terminal, a femto gateway receives a subscriber profile including LBO service flow information from the authentication server to provide the LBO service flow information to a femto base station through initial service flow setting between the terminal and the femto gateway. The femto base station sets an LBO service flow through a Dynamic Service Addition (DSA) procedure. The terminal performs a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) procedure through the LBO service flow setting, and obtains an IP address for LBO based on the DHCP procedure.

    摘要： When a terminal moves from a WLAN network to a cellular network after being allocated an IP address from a PDSN of the cellular network, a tightly coupled interworking method and apparatus between the cellular network and the WLAN network set up a temporary tunnel between the PDSN and an AGW of the WLAN network, and after completion of the handoff from the WLAN network to the cellular network, inform the PDSN of the handoff completion from the terminal, thereby enabling fast seamless handoff without data loss. Compared with the conventional tightly coupled scheme, the proposed tightly coupled scheme can prevent the need for processing cellular signals in the WLAN network because there is no need to transmit cellular signals in a WLAN interval, especially between the terminal and the AGW.

    摘要： A method and apparatus for supporting a Short Message Service (SMS) of a Mobile Station (MS) during an idle mode in a wireless communication system are provided. An MS operation method for supporting an SMS in a wireless communication system includes receiving an SMS message from a Base Station (BS) through a ranging message in an idle mode, upon receiving the SMS message from the BS, starting a timer, while the timer operates, waiting UpLink (UL) resource allocation for transmission of an ACKnowledge (ACK) message about the SMS message, and, upon being allocated a UL resource for the ACK message transmission, transmitting the ACK message using the UL resource.

    摘要： A system and method are provided for performing voice data handoff from a cellular network to a portable Internet/wireless local area network (WLAN) network by a mobile terminal in a heterogeneous network environment. The system and method are provided wherein whether to perform handoff is determined, and a location of a mobile terminal in the portable Internet/WLAN network is registered, a request for handoff is sent to the cellular network, and in response thereto, a request for voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) call setup through a specific upper node of the portable Internet/WLAN network is received, and the VoIP call to the upper node of the portable Internet/WLAN network is set-up, and resources of a circuit voice call to a specific upper node of the cellular network are released.
