Abstract:
Image forming apparatuses include: a casing; an image forming unit removable from the casing in a first direction; and plural developer cartridges. The cartridges may be attached and detached with respect to the image forming unit in a second direction that is inclined toward the first direction. Other image forming apparatuses include: a casing; an exposure device; a plurality of cartridges configured to be attached and detached with respect to the casing in a first direction; and a recording medium transport system for transporting recording media adjacent the photosensitive members in a second direction. The first direction may be inclined with respect to the second direction, and at least a portion of optical paths of the light emitted from the exposure device may extend parallel with the first direction. Aspects of the invention also relate to image forming units, e.g., for use in image forming apparatuses as described above.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus main body and an original reading device disposed on top of the apparatus main body. A sheet supply cassette, a sheet discharge tray, an original feed tray, and the original discharge tray are oriented such that their lengthwise directions are aligned with the first horizontal direction, and are arranged to overlap with one another in the vertical direction. A pair of side walls is disposed at both widthwise ends of the sheet supply cassette, the sheet discharge tray, the original feed tray, and the original discharge tray. The both widthwise ends of these components are formed as edge portions. The pair of side walls covers an entire length of each of the edge portions, thereby supporting all of the sheet supply cassette, the sheet discharge tray, the original feed tray, and the original discharge tray.
Abstract:
A photosensitive-member cartridge has an upper registration roller, and both ends of the upper registration roller are rotatably supported on respective side walls of a casing by roller support members. Torsion coil springs are engaged with the roller support members and the side walls, and urge the upper registration roller upward. When the photosensitive-member cartridge is alone, the upper registration roller is held at a retract position with respect to a bottom wall of the casing without rattling.
Abstract:
The package has an used developer cartridge, a packing case and cushioning members. The packing case is configured with a upper surface that can be opened. When packed in the packing case, the developer cartridge is accommodated in the cushioning members so that the developing roller is positioned vertically above the toner-extracting hole. Recessed parts are formed in the cushioning members, respectively. One recessed part is shaped to closely fit over the upper surface of the developer cartridge. The other recessed part is shaped to fit closes over the lower surface of the developer cartridge. The recessed parts accommodate the developer cartridge so that the developer cartridge has no play therein.
Abstract:
An image forming device includes: a main unit case; a process unit; a belt unit; a belt; a belt cleaning unit; a storing unit; and a duct unit. The process unit is configured to be attached to and detached from the main unit case. The belt unit is configured to displace between an opposed position and an opened position. The belt unit in the opposed position is opposed to the process unit. The belt unit in the opened position allows the process unit to be exposed in the direction of removing the process unit from the main unit case. The belt is provided on the belt unit and is rotatingly driven. The belt cleaning unit is fixedly attached to the belt unit and removes material adhered to the belt. The storing unit is fixedly attached to the main unit case and stores therein the material removed from the belt by the belt cleaning unit. The duct unit has a conveying path in fluid communication with the belt cleaning unit and the storing unit. The duct unit conveys, along the conveying path, the material removed by the belt cleaning unit from the belt cleaning unit to the storing unit.
Abstract:
A developing cartridge that includes: a developer container that contains a developer; a developer carrier that carries the developer; an agitation member that includes a rotary shaft, agitates the developer in the developer container and supplies the developer to the developer carrier; a drive member that is provided at one end of the rotary shaft and transmits a driving force to the rotary shaft; and a detected portion that is provided at the other end of the rotary shaft.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a detaching and pressing mechanism for releasing developing rollers of developer cartridges mounted in a drum unit from photosensitive drums and pressing the developing rollers on the photosensitive drums. The detaching and pressing mechanism includes a pair of translation cam members, intermediate members provided on the translation cam members, cam holders for holding the translation cam members in such a manner as to be linearly movable in an anteroposterior direction, and a synchronous movement mechanism for allowing the pair of translation cam members to linearly move in synchronization.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus is provided. An image forming apparatus includes: a drum cartridge having a photosensitive drum; a developing cartridge configured to be movably attached to the drum cartridge, the developing cartridge having: a developing roller; a bearing member; and a developing drive input member; and a spacing member for pressing against a predetermined portion of the developing cartridge and moving the developing cartridge such that the developing roller is spaced apart from the photosensitive drum, wherein the drum cartridge has an abutment portion with which the bearing member is brought into abutment, and wherein a straight line which connects the abutment portion with a center of a rotational axis of the developing drive input member extends substantially in the same direction as a connecting or disconnecting direction of the developing roller to or from the photosensitive drum.
Abstract:
A process cartridge, which includes a developing cartridge and a photosensitive cartridge for use with an image forming apparatus including a driving force output part and a feeding part, is provided. The developing cartridge includes a developer carrier, a first electrode provided at one side thereof, and a driving force receiving part provided at another side thereof and aligned with the first electrode such that the driving force receiving part overlaps the first electrode in a side view. The photosensitive cartridge, to which the developing cartridge is removably mounted, includes a photosensitive member, and a second electrode that contacts the first electrode when the developing cartridge is mounted in the photosensitive cartridge and that contacts the feeding part when the photosensitive cartridge is mounted in the image forming apparatus. The first electrode is pressed toward the driving force receiving part by contact with the second electrode.
