Abstract: A cap assembly is provided that includes a cap comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, a tip extending from the outer surface of the cap, wherein the tip includes an aperture therethrough operable to dispense the fluid stored within the dispenser. The cap assembly also includes a stem extending inward from the inner surface of the cap, wherein the stem is axially aligned and coupled in flow communication with the aperture of the tip. The stem includes a release valve assembly positioned along a length of the stem, wherein the release valve assembly facilitates creating a sealed surface therein and substantially prevents the liquid from passing out of the dispenser. The cap assembly further includes a stabilizing valve assembly extending from the inner surface of the cap to the outer surface of the cap.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a printhead assembly includes: an ink reservoir; a printhead; a passage for carrying ink from the ink reservoir to the printhead; and a port from the passage to a source of air pressure. The port is operable between a closed position in which the passage is not pressurized with air and an open position in which the passage is exposed to pressurized air. In another embodiment, an ink supply includes: a reservoir for holding ink; a printhead; a standpipe connecting the reservoir and the printhead such that ink may flow from the reservoir to the printhead through the standpipe; and a valve operatively connected to the standpipe. The valve is operative between a first position in which the standpipe is pressurized with air and a second position in which of the standpipe is not pressurized with air.

Abstract: Multiple database queries are satisfied with the same data in a manner that assures the data is current and without having to interrogate the database for each query. In a first embodiment, all queries that are received during the processing of a first query after interrogation of the database has begun for the first query are evaluated to determine whether the result set returned for the first query will satisfy the queries received during processing of the first query. If so, the result set returned for the first query is used to generate result sets for the subsequent compatible queries received during the processing of the first query. In a second embodiment, queries are delayed and grouped, and a new query is then processed for each group that returns a result set that satisfies all of the queries in the group. In both cases, the result set for one query is used to generate a result set for a different query.

Abstract: System and method for creating, configuring, representing, and using variables in programs. A graphical user interface (GUI) may be displayed in response to user input requesting creation and/or configuration of a variable for use in or comprised in one or more programs, e.g., on various devices. User input is received to the GUI configuring attributes of the variable, including: name, data type, and/or scope (e.g., local, global, or network). The configured attributes are stored and optionally displayed, e.g., in a resource tree, and the variable in each of the programs updated in accordance with the configured attributes. When at least one of the programs is incompatible with the configured variable, an error condition may be indicated, e.g., by providing information relating to portions of the program that are incompatible with the configured variable. The program may be modified in response to user input for compatibility with the configured variable.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing an MDF board from pulp from a fibrous lignocellulose material using a treatment or pretreatment step which exposes the material to oxalic acid or oxalic acid derivatives (particularly dialkyl ester derivatives, particularly in the vapor phase). The treated wood is then subjected to a sugar extraction wash and refined using any one of the several pulping methods to produce a final pulp product. Once this is done the pulp is used to make MDF boards having improved water repellency properties.

Abstract: A method of binning disk drives by evaluating quality metrics prior to a final quality audit is disclosed. A number of disk drives are assembled, and a plurality of quality metrics are generated for each disk drive representing a plurality of operating characteristics. The quality metrics for each disk drive are evaluated for binning the disk drives into a plurality of lots including a first lot and a second lot. A final quality audit (FQA) is performed by executing a number of write and read operations for a plurality of the disk drives in each lot and classifying each disk drive as passing or failing the FQA. If the number of disk drives that fail the FQA out of the first lot falls below a first threshold, the first lot is classified as acceptable for a first tier customer. If the number of disk drives that fail the FQA out of the second lot falls below a second threshold, the second lot is classified as acceptable for a second tier customer.
